That chance for Connolly sums that up so well. The trouble is I really feel for the lad. Scoring the goals to keep us up is a lot of pressure in a kid that age, I hope he has the support he needs as he looks a terrific talent, but not if he doesn't get supported and suffers from that.

You feel sorry for the lad, he's paid an extortionate amount of money to do that as his trade and failed in what was as a simple chance a sunday parkplayer would have scored

I feel confident he would have got the Veltman header on target at the very least and equally confident he would have scored the Connerly rebound chance all it wanted was a delicate little nudge and not the hit it so hard to try and take the net out that it had

....assuming he’d been there in the first place.

Incidence of new threads declines as time passes post final whistle - first 30 mins after final whistle accounts for most of them
We’re probably almost there now but as the Satdi night drinking kicks in a few more random threads are likely
Then one or two of the usual suspects will put another thread up very late tonight or early tomorrow morning, either pissed or hungover

Junior is now banned so that's 5 less

VAR would have over ruled it anyway for Maupay hand ball [emoji2375]

No I didn't say that. I am not sorry for him due to his miss. I feel for him due to the pressure out on him by our lack of options and the vile abuse he gets from fans. Strikers miss, that's life, but at his age it's got to be hard with the extra pressure and fan reactions. That is why I feel for him, not because he missed.

The vile abuse wasn't from fans though.

The pressure though he must feel earning all that money and not being able to play to it must be bad.

Well, that helped following today's debacle - I had an amount of nice red wine (probably slightly more than I should) and the missus and I watched Dumb & Dumber. Made a big difference that combo.

It was one way to blank out the worry that Dunky will get a bit of punishment for speaking out about the abysmal decision, as it is the Brighton way that we will suffer more.

I'd take abuse to play professional football.
Police get abuse. Teachers get abuse. Taxi drivers get abuse. Doormen get abuse etc.

That makes it ok then? As it happens elsewhere it's ok? How the hell will we improve.

I don't know mate, and I'm sorry you're finding it hard on here. I don't know if there is an answer.
You'd think a global pandemic might make people a little nicer to each other...

I can't beleive it.
I just woke up and checked the result and was surprised.
Then as usual I read through the Sporting Life commentary of the game and was even more flabbergasted.
2 penalties missed, a goal ruled out by VAR, 6 shots on target to their 2 and a lost game 1 goal to nil.
You couldn't script it, must have been a comedy show to watch, which I will do later.
Unbeleivable.

I just watched the game.
We get up against top teams and just assume we have to turn up against bottom feeders.
Reminded me of the footballing sketch from Monty Python.
Absolute joke, same as the coach's team selection.
Players like Tau etc. must be wondering what they have to do to get game time.
Tau actually runs at players, that would be novel.
Was like watching the Keystone Kops.

Should watch the game again then. You dont reach those levels of possession and chances without working hard and today like most days the guys pressured their opponents whenever they had the ball, just like always - one of the hardest working teams in Europe. The "just assume we have to turn up" is drivel. They are working their arses off, there is no other way to dominate possession & chance creation in the PL unless the team is massively superior in quality which is normally not the case with Brighton.

Exactly, we dont look like scoring.

Getting into a few goal scoring positions does not mean we look like scoring.

I mean, we missed two pens and resulted to trying to nab a cheeky freekick (which im fine with).

1 goal in 65 shots is that stat isn't it?

We pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, then lose the ball or play for a corner (which we are terrible at too).

We do not look like scoring and contrary to the pundits beliefs, we really are not exciting to watch.

But we don't pass, pass, pass, then lose the ball. We consistently create fantastic scoring opportunities, The myth the that we're all about pointless possession is nonsense. There is no end product, but it's the final shot, not the build up play. We create more good chances per game than almost any Albion team I can remember in 40 years.

Listen I admit I was typing in anger at the time, fresh wound from the shite game.

BUT we too often do, pass, pass, pass, pass, get to the oppositions area and then pass all the way back our half OR like I said lose the ball...... or play for a corner.... or like you said fluff a chance.

Have just wathed extended highlights. Apart from penalties which some would say lucky to get and Connellys miss WBA also had 2 big chances when twice one on one with keeper
