Potter picked Maupay and Connolly. It is on Potter that he picks Maupay every week when he has scored 4 frm open play all season despite all the chances. He has tried to do nothing different up front. He is late changing the strike force by 3 months and was 2 months late changing the keeper as well. Those things are down to Potter. If he picks Maupay or Connolly to start next week, I'm then Potter out.

Out of interest, which other strikers should he be picking, being that Zeqiri has never scored a top flight goal and Welbeck has been injured?

So we shouldn't look at the performance ok. Wierd stance you have. In your opinion that result was the same as us never leaving our half and conversing hatfulls of chances to them? Give over.
That performance was awful. We created nothing in the first half from open play. We again never looked like scoring even with an open goal and a pen miss that should never have been a pen.

Seen a lot of posters saying Trossard was poor today.
Didn't see it that way myself. He wasn't on fire, but thought he was better than most.

I would say our worst performers were, Burn, Bissouma and White. Welbeck and Lallan really aren't having the impact we hoped they would either.
Connolly's miss wa obviously a lowlight , but he also had the best shot of any of our players.

No it doesn't. Our future form and points and seasons will be affected by how we play now. Some people are very short sighted. We are more likely to go on a run if we are playing well than if we are not.

Well let’s see at the end of the season

As I have said before if we are out of the bottom 3 at the end of the season we deserve to stay up if we are in the bottom 3 we deserve to go down 38 games the league always a true reflection

Bottom line this is down to the players, piss poor and I will revert to my previous points

1) we are not quick enough getting it forward.
2) Nobody seems to have the intelligence to drop and support our makeshift wingbacks and give them an option
3) what is wrong with give and go and the classic triangles

All of the above contribute to our total lack of imagination.

We can’t argue about the double disallowed goal we had two penalties and neither were on target.

West Brom were shit, yes they got the 3 points but they were shit, offered nothing but the goal.

It’s time to drop some players because it simply isn’t good enough.

Maupay - Zequiri
Burn - Karbo
Gross - Moder

Pray to god that Andone and Lamptey are close

Can't help thinking that an old, creaky Glenn Murray could have got several of the 66 chances over the past three matches - the penalties, at least.

We never look like scoring? We can’t hit a barn door but Connolly had one saved today and missed from 6 yards, Maupay had one saved as well just before half time, Dunk actually scored, Trossard had one blocked by a great tackle and we had 2 penalties. We repeatedly ‘look’ like scoring - more than most Albion teams I can ever remember - it’s just the final touch.

I know what they mean though. It's the 'not expecting us to score' that makes it seem as though we don't look like scoring.

Thought Bissouma poor again today, after an off day against Palace. Was very Stephensesque, at one point stopped play completely, turned around and rolled it back to Dunk, something he hasn't done all season.

Just an observation - he's still our best player this season mind.

Yeah, remember all....
If the fixtures look tough, that is in our favour.
Sheffield United still to play but you know we'll pull some results out against the big boys.

Really felt like a few players hid today. That isn't good to see.
As well as a striker too, we should really look to get some stronger characters in other the summer. They're all just a bit nice and i see very little leadership and drive from individual players.
Missing Webster.

I agree. Bissouma and Trossard looked disinterested today. We miss Webster massively. I think we need a freshen up with getting Lamptey back in, Karbo, and potentially Moder. In terms of strikers, know knows.

It’s standard for us this season. I’ve seen worse. We basically need an open net with no keeper or defenders in the actual 6 yard box to score.

Or a free hit on goal from, say, 12 yards out. Oh, hang on....

Seriously - is there anyone going to argue now that this team does not have a soft underbelly - beat Leeds, Spurs and Liverpool and then go and lose to Palace and WBA after dominating both games - more of the same as it was for all of 2020.

Pretty football counts for nothing if you do not convert it to results. This team is now in crisis and if Fulham win tomorrow they are facing getting relegation shoved up their posterior with no sunshine in sight.

Potter has not shown that he is capable of getting the team out of the funk - the three win stretch was an aberration to the general trend that has been seen for 15 months.

Mate, you don’t even support us. Go to Liverpool, Forest or a Chris Hughton forum. Everyone knows you want nothing more than to say “told ya lads Hughton shouldn’t have been sacked”. It’s pretty transparent.

Fair question. My answer is that he should have seen this in October. But cant go back, but he is at fault for that. Now. Well I dont coach the players every week, but this week I would be looking to convert a squad member into a temporary forward as per Chris Sutton, or years ago when we put Foster up font in his second spell. I'm afraid it's now time for the manager to stop making Maupay undropable and create competition up front. I know that is not a name but as I'm not there on Monday morning, I can't give you a neme, but I have told you what Potter should have done months ago and what he should do now IMHO.
