[Music] Does any genre of music “make you angry”?

I hate knob twiddlers. I play keyboards a bit and it's so easy to set off a beat track and a couple of sequencers/arpeggiators and twiddle a filter or two. Even easier with a kaossilator. Just so boring.

Mainly (c)rap and modern atonal jazz where it sounds like everyone is playing a different tune.
I love proper r’n’b (Stax,Atlantic) but not the anodyne modern stuff
99% of the rubbish they play on popular radio stations.

Radio X might appeal If you can get it in your area ?

Radio Caroline for me. Bare minimum of ads, no news or weather. And for those of a more mature vintage Caroline Flashback for the oldies. Unlike Gold it has a collection of more than 20 records..

This from their website....

OK then – what is our format?
Trying to describe Radio Caroline's format in a few words is something we've always struggled with.

On the one hand it is easy to call ourselves a 'rock station', but we are more than that. Our programming is orientated towards an adult audience who have had decades to absorb the best of what they have heard on this radio station and others, and consequently enjoy a broad range of styles.

Yes, we do play 'rock' – in many of its flavours, but also blues, folk, singer-songwriter, some soul, some country – and some that can't easily be categorised.

We can also be classed by what we don't play – that is music well covered on almost every other radio station: i.e. manufactured commercial pop, dance and rap/hop-hop, most of which appeals to those below the age threshold we are programming for. We also avoid very heavy metal, thrash, death-metal etc.

Anything other than The Who, Adam Ant, Steeleye Span, and Jethro Tull makes me angry.

I have an aversion to 80's soul and jazz funk. Anything you can imagine Gary Davies playing during a personal appearances at Cinderellas in 1984.

Yes, to me R&B is Dr Feelgood, George Thorogood and the Destroyers, etc, not a group of preening pouting airheads with a choreographed dance routine, and lots of head rolling and hip jerking, singing anodyne songs with vacuous lyrics which might as well have been written while taking a quick dump.

Agreed, and that's modern RnB.

How on earth can any kind of music make anyone angry ffs!!

Any song especially in the pop/rock genre with a chorus or refrain featuring a children's school choir. Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall" and Clive Dunn's "Grandad" spring immediately to mind.

There's just something about the sound of children's school choirs that really makes me fume. I'd rather listen to the sound of fingernails running down a school blackboard.

The worst and most infamous culprits of this unbearable trend are the St Winifred's School Choir here taking centre stage....

Edit: I've just watched the end credits of the video below and whose name appears.... Jimmy Savile.

Brighton factually.....
I love Spanish and Mexican food, however....

Sometimes the bloody music they play Latino/Spanish guitar flamenco latin in the background drives me nuts....

So much so, that once while having a nice meal in Islington in Desperados, I could not stand the music any longer I left the wife in there and went for a walk while she paid...

Is that only available on MW?
Radio X is probably only on DAB2

This will grind your gears then, I’m only posting it because I love it in fairness, thanks for making a bell ring in my head

MW 648 in East Anglia, parts of Kent depending on the conditions (they finally got a legal frequency 6 years ago and transmit from Orfordness on the Suffolk coast (the old World Service transmitter) . Online, and DAB in Brighton, Norwich, London Portsmouth, Glasgow, Birmingham. Flashback online only apart from DAB in Norwich and Cambridge. Covid has put a stop to it this past year, but they also get out onto the Ross Revenge for 1 weekend a month and broadcast from there.

Ha,ha, definitely not.....I’m not a fan of Talkshite :)
I listen to Radio 6 until some of the rap music gets on my tits, then change to Absolute Radio until the ads really get on them.
Absolute Radio without the ads would probably be my perfect choice.

I listen to Absolute Radio until I hear the opening bars of a Kings of Leon song. Then it's a race against time to grab the remote and switch over to Absolute 80s or 90s.
I have similar anger directed towards those terrible Just Eat adverts.

These type of radio stations do seem to have their favourites, if I switch on Absolute I’m sure I hear Red Hot Chilli Peppers within the next 20 minutes.
I can’t seem to get 80s and 90s in my area since they changed it a couple of years back.
I have never used Just Eat, and probably never will because of their annoying ads.

'Garage' music makes me want to put the persons responsible for it in the woodchipper.
