To be fair, he posted that thread just after we’d deservedly won our 3rd game in 4, which included 2 wins against big-6 clubs. Losing one game a few weeks later doesn’t make him wrong.

And posting after we won a few games didn't make him right either.

The original 'olive branch' thread was back patting smugness, poorly disguised as trying to heal a divide on here that he has been very responsible in creating and fanning.

As I said at the time, people that think Potter could/should be doing a better job won't change their mind after a few wins and those that think Potter is great won't change their mind after a few losses. And nor should they.

If Potter is this genius coach that some are convinced he is why do we keep making the same wrong decisions in the opposition box game after game???

In my view, the answer is because ultimately we don't have the quality of attacking players to beat a Premier League level low block.
Lots of teams struggle with this though, even those with players we yearn for, we aren't alone.

He sets them up in a way that give the players 44 opportunities to score over two games, what more can he do? Score them himself? They need to be able to do something on their own.

No, but losing to your bitter rivals when they’re on an awful run of form missing their only good player is a bit different to losing to anyone else, maybe not in the points column but emotionally.

I can’t wait for the reactions when we fail to beat WBA.

Does anyone know what Kane, Vardy, Rashford, Ings, Fernandes, Salah, Mane, Son, Bamford, Calvert Lewin, Jesus, Gundogan etc do in training?

Maybe we need to do some of that?

They probably do the same things as strikers who failed at their respective clubs, Ings and Che Adams are attending the same sessions yet one is Ings and another is Adams. Danny Welbeck most likely participated in the same training sessions as Rooney, Berbatov, Van Persie and then had the same manager who had previously managed Bergkamp and Henry, yet he is pretty far from any of them. Players can be improved by training but ultimately if it was as easy as "just teach them how to score", every team would have four 20+ goal strikers.

How many points have we got from displays just like that? Answer is that prior to tonight, we’d accumulated 12 points in the six games since we last lost. I think we were 4th in the form table.

Back in the real world we r 5th from bottom 4 points outside the bottom 3

You think this is shite?
What was your view on Hughton's last 3 months?

The plan is to stick with Potter and watch the team gradually improve, as they have been doing for the last 2 years.
Once again, what's the alternative plan?

I hear a lot of butthurt bitching from a load of bedwetters.
But what is the alternative?

Happy to move forward together when someone is offering a solution.
But I haven't heard it yet.

Has sacking hughton really been the solution ? Better footy but same old results ?

I didn't think we should have sacked Hughton.

I was very vocal in my view that staying up, FA cup semi and the double over Palace, was an excellent season.

However, Hughton was wasting Tony's investment.
The value of the squad was diminishing, along with the results.

We scraped through in his last season and it was desperate and depressing watching.
Without Glenn Murray, we would have gone down.

It was the right decision.

A few of us have have seen this result coming for a long time. January and February on NSC have been difficult months having to read the smug comments from the Potter sycophants.

Some of us always saw the flaws in Potter’s philosophy but were shouted down and called ‘bedwetters’. We could see that Potter’s inflexibility or reluctance to change his system against teams who defend deep and in numbers would not yield anything against our relegation rivals. The pedestrian pace for large swathes of each match might look great in the possession stats, but the only column that matters rarely exceeds 1 at the end of a game.

To the Inners. Come on. Let’s get real. We are in serious danger of going down with Potter at the helm.

Tonight I extend a hand of friendship. We’re all fans of the club - not Potter. Let’s unite as a fan base again and move forward together.

Here here.

I ask one simple question.

Do we win that game if we had say Harry Kane at CF? If the answer is yes, its a recruitment issue not a coaching one. If the answer is no then I have no idea what planet you inhabit.

25 shots, 1 goal from the RB. This is not rocket science is it? Potter changed the formation at HT and we dominated even more than we already had. We camped out the entire 2nd half in their final 3rd. We had 75% possession, 25 shots, the coaching and tactics are just fine. The finishing is shit pure and simple. We need better forwards and those we have to take some responsibility.
