Blondie
Iron maiden
Black Sabbath
AC DC
Gary numan
Duran Duran
Motorhead
The specials
These would be the top of the list, but I wouldn't be able to turn any of them down except Chris de burgh and Slade at Christmas.
Incredible talent around and accessible in those days.

Tough. 1980 was a peak gigging year for me and I saw just about every band on that list that I would want to see. So my three are:

Angel Witch supporting Gillan
Angel Witch supporting Krokus
I nearly chose the majestic Priest/Maiden combo but I saw both of them so I opt for Ted Nugent who I haven't

Roxy Music surely is a no brainer . One of the most influential groups of the last 40 years .

Followed by Duran Duran who just get better and better in Concert with age and I would probably take a chance on Gary Numan even though I only know a few of his songs or Blondie .

I saw Gary Numan in Brighton back in the early 80s, very good.

Strap yourselves in. We're going back to 1980.

You have tickets for THREE nights at the Birmingham Odeon.

Who are you going to see? Remember the acts will be doing an 1980 set.

Loads of great rock options (Judas Priest and Iron Maiden double bill!), but can't resist:

Roxy Music
Gary Numan
Duran Duran

Play the game. Three only, folks. No "or", "but" etc.

If none of these acts mean anything to you, ask yer dad. Or grandad.

Great thread. Just done a snapshot and asking friends in Facebook :clap2:

This is difficult, I keep typing out 3 groups, then immediately decide to write down a different 3.

Finally decided on:

Hawkwind
Secret Affair
Nazarth - Not listed but played Birmingham Odeon on 13 March 1980

Ultravox - Purely for Vienna
The Specials - Purely for Ghost Town
Motorhead - Seen them before. The drummer is the best musician I've ever seen live, absolutely phenomenal.

Ghost Town was released in 81 so you didn't get to see it
