You engaged me petal.

I tried to be the bigger man and move forward, but you clearly have no interest so go on holding grudges and feel free to ignore me as I will do you. Try not to be abusive though thanks.

You just can’t help yourself can you.
I’ve never been abusive, never called you names.
You’ve tried to make me out to be something I am not and continue to play the victim.
I’ve no interest in making enemies, but I will post/reply if it’s a topic I’m invested in, that’s generally how forums work.
Good day to you.

UTA.

I think Vagabond is getting a little too bullied on this thread

Bullying is always unpleasant.
Let’s remember though, someone bounced old threads to humiliate and poke at other posters, the same person started a new thread bursting with smugness and aimed at besmirching other posters. Not very pleasant behaviour if you ask me.
I’m happy to walk away.

Obviously we don’t share the same viewpoint. I appreciate you keep pointing towards the ‘never in the bottom 3’
line but we were getting closer and closer, Fulham’s form had picked up and our position was looking a little worrisome. We couldn’t buy a home win for love nor money. Again, football is primarily about winning games, something we were seriously struggling to do.
Financially, relegation would be ****ing disastrous for Bloom, and as has been said many times before, many teams far bigger than Brighton have been relegated and have never returned to the Premier League. It’s all well and good planning for the future but the present should not be overlooked.
If you absolutely refuse to acknowledge why many people were getting jittery then this discussion will run and run.

I understand why people were jittery.
I just don't think it was a logical position to have.

The fact is that we are a better team than any of the bottom three.
It doesn't mean we won't go down, but it also means if the worst were to happen, we would be better suited to come back up.

Now I have a lot of respect for what you post.
but Relegation will not be financially disastrous for Bloom. That is a ridiculous statement to make.
I'm genuinely surprised that a poster of your integrity, would make such a piece of nonsense.

Now the true reason for the never ending discussion is because football fans broadly fall into two camps....
Let's call them optimists and pessimists.

I'd agree with that. To be sure there's been a bit of uncalled-for Told-You-So 'pompous crowing'. But probably just got caught up in that magnificent midweek moment eh? Like we all did to differing degrees. Maybe time to put this one to bed?

Likewise, I enjoy your posts as I generally find them well thought and informed. I appreciate we can share different opinions without falling out.

He is.

This thread will cause no good.

There is a strong case it should be locked.

It should never have been started. NSC doesn’t need people trying to create factional groupings over the identity of the manager. By all means have the debate but this factionalism has been an incredibly immature exercise. There’s quite enough of that in the political threads in the Bear Pit.

100% agree. I find it interesting that the one season Brighton ended up with a points average below 1 per game Hughton was sacked. Throughout 2020 we had a points average below 1 per game. I think Bloom has that faith in him that many of the Potter in fans had, BUT if he couldn't turn it around there would have come a point before we were relegated that he would have pulled the trigger.

Anybody who think Bloom doesn't think its important we stay in this league is kidding themselves.

Pts per game are an indication of how strong the league is. i.e one year 38pts just about keeps you up, another year it gets you to mid table.
Many posters believe that 34/35 points will keep you up this year.

The season Hughton was sacked we also significantly outperformed xG stats.
After the final game of the season Hughton was quoted as saying we could expect more of the same next year.
Hughton wasn't sacked because he didn't get a pt per game, he was sacked because we got lucky.

Tony is a numbers man, well a numbers God actually.
He will be looking at far more than results, ppg and Xg to work out what is the right next step for our club.

Anyone who thinks Tony Bloom hasn't assessed the risks and planned for relegation, is a fool.

Cheers mate. Tbf It’s not been that bad, all this has certainly given me cause to optimise my ignore list. It’s such a great feature.

It is a great feature.
Just a shame that half of NSC won't see your post, because of it. :glare:
