[Albion] How would GP have fared with the fanzine culture?

Nope, he wouldn't , these days the pressure is utterly immense, there would have been no respite between games and the volume of criticism and vitriol probably would have got him sacked very quickly.

Hard to imagine that Baz was a few weeks short of 7 years in the job, in that time he'd got relegated twice, promoted once and been 90 minutes away from the top flight.

With Fergie and Wenger long gone, only Sean Dyche on nearly 9 years at Turf Moor bucks the trend, after he eventually leaves that post I can never see anything like that ever happening again.

Very true, the only one i can see getting to 7 years for me is Klopp, he's bought in to the ideals, he's delivered the first Premiership in donkey's years, unless the wheels fall off he's home and hosed, it will be 6 years for Klopp this October.

It sure does fly, I thought he had done 4 years but yes, 6 this October ... even if he fails abjectly this season I reckon he's good for another 18 months come the end of this season.

I miss fanzines. Having everything online is just boring.

Speak for yourself pal. Pornography in the pre online era was very hit and miss. Apart from occasionally coming across a discarded copy of Razzle in the bongo bush when someone had thrown it away in a fit of wangst it wasn't free either. Today you can find what you want whenever you want.

Not sure GP is escaping scrutiny - he rightly has received criticism (our results have been dreadful/disappointing) from swathes of tweets, a vocal group on here some articulate, some angry, some nuanced, some toxic, fan sites and voices like We Are Brighton, multiple facebook groups, the OP writes a column online making his case that his time is up on a regular basis. And (younger than me) fans are on youtube, insta and so on and commenting and others are calling radio phone ins and conributing to multiple podcasts. And then every newspaper, pundits and ex footballers on Sky, BT - and there's still the odd zine out there. Its remarkable he's still so composed given all of that to be fair.
