This will almost certainly come back to bite me in the butt , but i thought he was bloody brilliant . Been here two minutes , hasn`t had enough time to get to know the team , yet put in a great display on a really poor pitch .
@ The Fits , i favour the free role with player`s like Tau , pacey and attacking the defence at will . I am really optimistic about this guy , and seems to be liked already by the lads .

Yup, he is difficult to place. A bit like Trossard.

Think he is mainly going to be some kind of impact sub this season, coming in with some pace and energy at stages and scenarios where positional discipline etc becomes less important. Hopefully he can fill that role a bit better than Ali J has.

Yeah exactly this.
I think Potter's comments on him were quite illuminating in a subtle way. He was clearly saying 'i know exactly what he will bring to the team', and as you say I suspect that that is coming on when the game suits.
He is the sort of the player that teams will have to watch when he comes on, whereas I'm sure there's very little response when Ali J does.

Oh, I love giving a player (or even two) a free role. I just don't think we can do that.
I wish him the best of luck, he's obviously another really nice guy and definitely has something to offer.

I thought he looked great. I'm going he is going to be more than a sub. He was constantly running about into space and getting back. Our forward line is static most of the time, he certainly showed them what they should be doing.

I thought he looked good, good control, good pace.... on a decent pitch, with a bit of acclimatisation, teammates understanding his movement.... he looks to try neat one two's around the box.... I think he could lead us from mediocrity to the dizzy heights of average.

Tough one to to judge that performance really .

Didn’t look out of his depth v L2 opposition which is A start . Looked more of a footballer than zeiquiri to be honest .

Snatched at couple chances so should fit in well .

Could be ok and offer something based on that

It was only saved because he scuffed it and it was travelling slowly. Pretty sure that, without the goalkeeper's intervention, the ball would have missed the target.

Looked on target to me, keeper also does incredibly well to get that far over to tip it around.

What that photo shows to me is that if the keeper (a 4th tier one, not necessarily 1st choice for his team), has got that far over, then it wasn't a very well struck shot.

The ones we've conceded, albeit to world class players this season, have already hit the back of the net and bounced back into play by the time to keeper has got that far over

I could certainly be proved wrong, but my memory is that the camera angle from behind Maupay showed it was going in. He went for placement rather than power, and the goalkeeper gambled, guessed correctly and did well. That's how I saw it anyway.

Well, if he was going for power, he certainly didn't achieve it.
