Bit harsh on Lawro. He plays to win the game, his predictions aren't really a reflection on a whole season, he just plays the percentages each week.

Yes, but it’s this sort of mardy northern shit at the end of tonight’s prediction that is so unnecessary:

I still think Brighton will stay up, but that will be down to other teams' results rather than their own.

Say we’re going to lose by all means, but really? ???

VERY unimpressed with Lawro’s lazy predictions for this weekend. Of course he has us down for our customary defeat away from home as 2-0 having been unbeaten away for a few games, that is to be expected.

He sees no upsets or even goals for the other three teams looking to avoid the drop, they are also all going to lose 2-0

We’ll see but I doubt that the season is going to fizzle out at the bottom with no twists or turns or even goals for the threatened teams.

It does seem unlikely that not one of the three relegation threatened teams will even manage a point.

The weird thing about Lawrenson's predictions of our results is that, in 38 matches, he only predicted us to draw three times. We have actually drawn more than a third: 14 out of 37, but at no point during the season did he think 'Brighton have proved hard to beat, perhaps they'll get a draw,' despite the evidence of us becoming the division's draw specialists accumulating gradually over the season. His predictions saw us finishing with 27 points and we currently have 11 more than that, because we have drawn 11 more times than he thought we would. He has us down to lose again this weekend. You know, I think that, like we have done in 5 of our last 6 away games, we could get a draw.

I wouldn't have an issue with pundits predicting we will lose every game, IF our form backed that up. But for a team that has remained unbeaten away from home longer than 18 of the other teams in the division, and has picked up points in all restart matches bar the three against arguably the best teams in Europe when we played them, it does seem a little strange. Even when they begrudgingly say something nice, there always seems to be something to retract it. Garth Crooks "somehow Brighton have clawed themselves out of the relegation zone" comment best part of THREE years since we were last in it (and even that was only for one or two rounds of matches) when he put a Brighton player in his team of the week.

I dont think there is anything wrong with the majority of the focus on the BBC or other sports channels being on the "big six or seven" as that is where the majority of interest is among neutrals, but you would think that when they do mention the other 14 they would at least do some research rather than a quick look at the table and base everything on that. Of all the braodcasters NBCSN do best. A focus on the "big teams" but knowledgable about the rest and always seem to give credit when due rather than put down and win or draw against them to the big team playing bad .

Frankly, who gives a sh@t. Lawrenson is a miserable sod. Asked recently on the BBC about his recollections of Jack Charlton he focused on how 'tight with money' Jack was. Hardly an inspiring story line about a World Cup winning player and the greatest ever Ireland football manager. Seems to revel in his northern miserable git persona.

How nice of him, we are capable of not being relegated. Condescending prick

He has actually predicted us to finish ‘at the top of the bottom eight’ in 13th.

That’s probably higher than most of us would dare hope at the moment and that’s without the three or four signings that could happen in the next three weeks.
