Leeds are now in their thirteenth season in the Premier league, as opposed to Brighton’s fourth.

And you accuse them of being deluded. ???

It was a long time ago though... Glenn Murray was 19 when they started their last PL season before this one. A lot has changed.

Ancient history mate.

Blackpool, Preston, Bolton and Blackburn have played in the top flight more than you if that’s your argument.

OK I have had some time to reflect on the performance.

I can't help but wonder at just how good a coach Bielsa is. I watched the bulk of that team getting tonked in the Championship and ending up mid table under a variety of the rubbish managers that infest the lower leagues. Thomas Christiansen didn't even think Klich was worth a place in the first team. Ayling, Dallas, Philips have been transformed into players who fought toe to toe with the one of the best teams in the world, and although they were beaten they weren't disgraced. They looked like they belonged there, that they were Premier League players not Championship journeymen.

That takes a brilliant tactical mind and world class coaching methods. Steve Evans, bless him, (very critical of Bielsa's appointment because he is a "furriner") was world class only in the size of his paunch. There is a difference between managing players of the calibre of the Argentinian national side, and those of Gillingham. When you see what a truly great coach can do, with no money (the only expensive signings on show yesterday were the weaknesses as they haven't adapted to the system yet) you see how the role of manager is everything at a football club. Great managers mould whole football clubs to their personality, and Bielsa is one of those. There aren't many. Leeds United were lucky to recruit Marcelo.

The other thing I would say is what a cracking match. It was end to end, it was exciting, it had everything except good defending. I know most of you guys hate Leeds with a passion, and the hatred you feel blinds you to being objective, but surely even you can recognise that? Isn't that what football is all about ? Or should be?

The result was desperately disappointing, yes. But you have to look at the bigger picture, as the wound of the defeat heals. This was a match shown all over the world. The word on the street is that we are being looked at as a takeover candidate. Serious money might be injected into the club, we might be transformed financially. I don't think a performance like that will have harmed our chances of that.

And this is just the beginning of the season. We have more than thirty matches to look forward to.

Vamos Leeds Carajo!

There’s two things I take away from your post.

1) You have a massive misunderstanding of BHA’s “hatred” of Leeds. The White story was international and confusing considering we held all the cards. But it was fun to chat about in our little echo chamber on here, even with you weirdos that take this stuff much too seriously started chiming in.

2) Jason Manford was correct on his podcast as to why you all take this so seriously. Leeds United is your calling card and cultural identity to not only your country but the rest of the world. Similar to the rust belt cities of Baltimore and Pittsburgh in the 70’s with their NFL teams.

But thank you for the clarity you have provided to those of us that didn’t really understand why you have the reputation you do. When it’s everything to you then you’ll come on other boards to fight for their approval.

Leeds have absolutely no chance of going down, let’s be honest here (unless of course bielsa goes).

However, now he’s in the prem, can see spurs taking bielsa once mourinho gets sacked in November.

Their actual players are a very average championship level, so already obvious the impact bielsa has

It's a good putdown, but are you seriously suggesting that Brighton ( or for that matter Palace) fans are more deluded than Leeds fans?

I'm aware of the history - I was referring to the relative novelty of Leeds being in the Premier League after 16 years out of it, whilst we have been in the thick of things for the past 3 years. My point was this - only the most deluded of Leeds fans would have seen Saturday's result as disastrous. Our favourite northern contributor obviously falls into that category (but I guess we knew that anyway!)

Yes we did, a better team beat us. That is football, right? Does it never happen to Brighton, or something?

I was just saying that it was a cracking game and a pleasure to watch despite the defeat.

To be fair to many on this website, that has been acknowledged. Some of you are fair minded and lovers of the game.

Do you know the thing that is REALLY funny, mind? The two Leeds games are amongst those that you guys are looking forward to the most this season. You won't admit it, but it is the truth. That is true of other clubs too, or do you think Man U and Chelsea fans prefer playing WBA to us?

When was the last time a club got promoted to this fanfare and hype? Can anyone tell me? Leeds are a pure box office club, you know this as well as I and that is one of the many reasons you hate us so much. As I keep saying, we are what you are not, and you can never forgive us for that. :)

Tell you what, why don't you get back to us when Leeds go to Anfield and enjoy 56% possession, as Brighton did last season? Until then, give us all a rest.

They will do okay. The new Sheffield United.

Juvenile Albion fans need stop starting silly spats on Twitter.

They might be, but they might not be. It's been ONE GAME. I'm not entirely sure why everyone is now expecting them to do so well. Norwich won at Man City last season and look what happened to them.

Crikey I’ve ignored their fans up to know. “We’re jealous of them “ 😀😀

You idiot. No surprise that a palace supporter overlooks administration (or cheating as it is better known) when looking at another clubs history. The post administration LUFC has only existed for 13 years. :ffsparr:

Bozza needs to change LUFC and Leeds to 'Leeds United 2007 Limited'. Who are in their first season in the top tier! Best of luck to them, good to see a new team in the PL tbh.

...and just for the sake of completeness perhaps you'd care to post up the stats before their keeper got sent off?
