Think the T&Cs are quite clear, you cannot transfer a ticket. It's the enforcement of that which has been soft touch. I believe the rule is a requirement of the EPL. Harsh as it may seem, enforcement would level the playing field for those on the waiting list and/or members. That said I would suggest the vast majority of STH do attend most games so probably not a major issue as far as the club is concerned, rightly or wrongly!

It’s not a T&C or a EPL rule, it is a criminal offence to transfer a football ticket unless authorised by the club (as is the case in 1901).

This is going to be an issue for me. I have two season tickets that I pay for, one in my name and one in my sons.

My son moved up to London 3 years ago and ever since, his ticket has been shared by two of my nephews, who being brothers have the same surname (but different to mine). They divide up the games at the beginning of the season. I don't think I am allowed to transfer the ticket to one of them (which even if I could, would mean the other losing out).

Looks like I'm buggered whatever happens - Any ideas ?

But what is 'law/requirement' supposed to deliver? My understanding is it is wrapped up between stopping touting and health and safety so sharing a ticket with a named partner(s) really should not be that difficult to put in place and in many respects improves on the current situation where Joe Bloggs might be in a seat when in fact club thinks its John Smith.

Regards the ballot I think the club would be better to ask people do they want to be in the ballot , not decline after. A fair number of people like me don't want to attend in the current health climate but want to retain their season ticket in the hope the virus can be controlled. I suspect there are at least 5k fans who want to go and will jump at the chance to go to all the games. The only issue I see with this are if the club gets sign off for more fans than actually want to attend but i can't see that happening. The other point I would guess is what do the club charge me for holding a season ticket i don't use well if they have 5k limit and sell it out probably nothing , if thy have a 10k limit then maybe that's when some pro-rata charging might come in.

It is mentioned that you can get some sort of note from the government, is that the letter sent to homes of people who were deemed vulnerable? Is it it applicable to the house or the individual?

i just dont see they can fairly enforce photo ID when there is no legal requirement to have one.

With the recent increases in CV cases I can't see us back at the Amex until 2021.

That was always the plan. Of course there was always going to be a rise in cases at some point, especially when the tests don’t actually test for Covid alone. What matters is if there is a spike in the mortality rate, which there isn’t.

Good thing is that more people are waking up to what is really going on.

They can if they want to same way Tesco can refuse to sell you a can of beer if you don't have photo ID or a pub can stop you entering or chuck you out. Also had to have one to get into Selhurst the last few seasons

Surely part of the plan will also be a spike in the mortality rate, with fake news covid-19 deaths; these lizards aren't stupid! :shootself

I see there is a second confirmed case of a staff member having Covid at a Hove School. Ministers saying the increase in infection is worrying.
I think getting back to the Amex is unlikely much before next March.

Many posters are forgetting these are govt requirements not the clubs. As was explained at the zoom meeting it is essential for track and trace to know exactly who is present.

With regard to your first paragraph, I agree that it in theory it wouldn't be difficult to have a named alternative but the problem with that is, as per Watford Zero, the person on the ticket no longer goes so the two nephews have effectively jumped the waiting list for which, I believe, people pay a fee to get on. It will be very difficult to alter the system now without upsetting one group or another.

As for the second paragraph, I agree, I think the club should find out how many season ticket holders do not want to put themselves at risk and then ballot the remainder. I would though suggest it is likely to be far more than 5000 that want to go.

Apart from Covid or the antibodies, what else are they testing for?

Wish people would stop bleating on about season tickets and the like. It’s utterly immaterial, we’re in the middle of the biggest global pandemic and economic crisis the worlds ever seen. Football is irrelevant. Squabbling about attendance even more so.

............not only that, we all know the club will bombard us with emails and other social media once they know what’s going on anyway.

The latest lockdown adjustments probably makes attending any games this year unlikely anyway - I’ve written off any likelihood of attending.

They are supposed to be having spectators at the racing today not sure if that will go ahead now.
I agree with you that it is unlikely fans will go back to the Amex at all this year. Irrespective of how long the new measures last for.
I think it is likely a blanket ban will apply for the whole of the 20/2021 season, just to ensure we are through this thing.

Whilst agreeing with the "it's a waiting game right now" sentiment above, I think there were some clear indications from the club on much of this...

- All fans will be included in ballots for each game, unless...
- a fan presents some sort of government-issued proof that you are shielding, in which case you can opt out of the entire season
- a fan has opted out of the particular fixture. Each fan can opt out of up to 6 fixtures, with no more than 2 being from each fixture category (ie you cant opt out of the 6 least attractive fixtures)
- Fans will have to present photo ID that matches the name of their ticket (this was checked pretty thoroughly at the Chelsea fixture)
- Kids also have to show photo ID currently, but this looks like the area that could change. I guess this could permit some child ticket-sharing, although this won't be officially authorised.
- Ballots are likely to be held relatively close to each fixture (I think 2-3 weeks was mentioned)
- If you "win" in a ballot but can no longer attend then you can put the seat back into the ticket exchange and hope it sells in order to get (some of?) your money back

I stand to be corrected, but not refunds. My understanding is that we build up a pot of funds with our Direct Debits for 6 months including September. I wasn't listening re lump sum payers. Direct Debit stops and if we get a seat in the ballot, the cost is deducted from our pot. We can opt out of the ballot up to 6 times. If we stay in the ballot, which is the default, and get a ticket, we can put it on the exchange and I believe all matches have the same ticket price/resale value. We are in the ballot as individuals or a group with others. If we are a individual or group, it's one ballot place and we are in the ballot for every match regardless of whether we get selected once, never or every match. We don't know the first balloted match yet. As I say, I stand to be corrected.

Bozza, do you know whether there are refunds on the 6 games we choose not to enter the ballot ? I had assumed this was the case otherwise difficult to see the point of opting out.

One thing i am unclear on - if you opt to be part of a group 'bubble', can individuals within the group opt out of (up to 6) matches or does the whole group have to opt out?

Each fan will have a cash balance on their account, reflecting how much has been paid to the club. Each time you go to a game, your personal cash balance will be reduced.

So, for games where you have opted out or lose in the ballot, you will not be charged.

Appreciate I'm not Bozza but, I believe they said at the forum that the point of opting out is to make sure you aren't included in the ballot for games you know you can't attend. This also avoids getting and paying for a ticket that you have to put on the exchange and may not sell.
