Keep improving like he has and I can see him moving on and not signing a new contract in the meantime to concentrate our minds on what we do with him, sadly

We have a Yaya Toure on our hands, enjoy it!

If he keeps improving like he has, I can't see there being too many EPL teams ahead of us.

I would be nice if we threw off our 'small club' 'relegation tracker' mentality, and were a bit more like Tony.

Sure we don't have to go all Leeds/Villa/Norwich about it, but by the same token a little faith in what we're watching develop in front of our eyes can't be a bad thing, can it?

Too long an Albion fan. Take a few decent PL teams apart, on the bounce, and that may change. I go into every season hoping for us to be a top half team but happy to just stay in this division. I was very happy when we were a top Championship team but I NEVER “expected” us to be one of the best  Sorry

I feel your pain Icy.

To be honest i just look for the Premier table before the season starts. Take a image in my mind, as i know we will never be that near the top again until the next pre-season. But it wont stop me believing, :albion2::albion2:

Yves Bissouma has been great post lockdown, and yes, if he keeps improving how he has been since then he will be a great player. HOWEVER, I hope we don’t get ahead of ourselves. Bissouma has only played consistently for the last third of the season. Also, I’m not sure how much improving Bissouma has left. He was 21 when we bought him, and now he was 24. Not saying that he won’t become a great player, but many here wanted to offload him in the January/Summer window

I don’t recall one suggestion on here that we should get rid of him at any stage since he joined

I really don’t think they did. Happy to be proved wrong - please put the posts up suggesting that.

Not sure I get the Yaya You're comparison. He seems to be a different player. Maybe I have not seem Toure play enough.

Any black midfielder who is fairly big and strong automatically gets compared to Touré, or Pogba.

Any small technical black midfielders get compared to Kante.

Really? Seems like a rather lazy and racist way to compare players.

Black players always seem to get compared to other black players. Adjectives used are always about speed and strength rather than intelligence.

It’s one of those insipid things; even the top pundits do it all the time.

This feels like a huge season for Bissouma. If he's played in the right position and formation, he should find that consistency he hasn't had before (prior to lockdown anyway). If he kicks on like he quite clearly has the potential to, he'd be worth an absolute fortune. Other teams' fans have already started to notice him last season (Wolves, Arsenal etc). He has all the tools...if he can do it (almost) every week, it's going to be amazing. Lallana could be the sort to experienced head in the middle to allow Bissouma to really shine.

I'm really rather excited about him this season.

It's true. I think it's something we all do.

Yves actually reminds me of Paul Scholes TBF. Alas, without the goals at present.

It isnt just black players Molumby was recently compared to Roy Keane because he is Irish. Also for white English players they get compared to the new Rooney or whatever. It is lazy and stupid journalism every player is unique. Messi was once called the new Maradona he wasnt he was Messi.

After about 10 minutes of his first game for us I knew we had a rough diamond. This could be Yves last season for us so enjoy it. He’s going to go for our record transfer fee by a distance IF he kicks on again this season, I think he will.
