Was never his fault. Even as someone who didn't rate him, you couldn't fault his attitude, desire and commitment. He just wasn't good enough for the Championship and we let a player go that was good enough for the Premier League.

Bollocks. He was easily good enough for the championship

CMS was certainly good enough for the Championship in my opinion. Sadly we bought a player who did not suit our brand of football. CMS is a Vardy type player who needs to run onto through balls, not play with his back to goal as we did under Poyet's passing football. I felt very sorry for CMS as he was a square peg in a round hole.

This comment from a Colchester United fan after today's game against Stevenage: "In a nutshell, Norris and Nouble too slow and predictable. By contrast Mackail-Smith ran his legs off for the home team." Good to see he hasn't changed!

Feel so sorry for the guy. watch the goal at turf Moor. Played for a mentally arthritic manager. Unfortunately, the rest is history.......

No idea what mentally arthritic means but it sure did make me chuckle. :lolol:

If he scored that goal against Burnley, the 9 men game he would have gone down as a legend.

There was a bit of a finishing gaffe at Palace when Dunk had been sent off, we were 1-0 down and he went through and did everything right except the finish. Glenn would go on to stick the knife in with a couple, but had he netted the Burnley equaliser and then levelled it up at Palace, with ten men, he would have been revered from then onwards. Who knows what difference it would have made!

The achilles injury ruined him a bit really - hence the drop off so drastically after us. Played in a front two he would have been excellent. We just never suited the way he played.

Weird seeing this thread today as he popped up on my twitter feed yesterday (guess I still follow him), retweeting this of all things

He's retweeted a 'fake covid' story before too.

I remember a televised interview from his time while playing for the Albion it was virtually empty I think he was living on his own at the time and it was a typical Batchelor pad all that was there was a TV, games and a sofa

From his Twitter, he seems to have some strange views but not as bad as Alan Navarro who is retweeting David Icke a lot at the moment.

Him and Navarro too re-tweet each others tinfoil hat posts

CMS retweeting yet another Covid is a hoax style tweet from a Qanon type account today/yesterday.

To retweet batshit mentalists once may be regarded as unfortunate, to do it twice (well, more really) looks like bellendery of the highest form.

Yes he was. When Poyet signed him, he said he was going to build the team around him. This never happened. He was used to playing as part of a strike partnership and Poyet consistently played him upfront on his own. I’d say we were partially responsible for wrecking his career!

My mate went out with Amber Fry for a bit and she’s now married to Craig but he still has her on Facebook and she is just as bad apparently

Met CMS a few times back in the day. Nice bloke, worried about his knee a lot and seemed to be struggling with confidence generally. Real pity as his first season was something special. Hope it works out.
