I'd genuinely like to understand how it could harm the case.
Looks like a slam dunk to me.

Prejudicing a fair trial.

And of course the victims family have asked for it not to be shared

Surely you can't prejudice something so obvious.

And the only family I would expect to not want it shown would be the driver's family and only be asking to save themselves more embarrassment.

So? Shouldn’t be shared after they’ve asked

Bit late - I've just viewed it before seeing that it had been asked for it not to be shared. How do you unshare it anyway?

Cast iron evidence for the prosecution. I suppose the reason they don't want it widely transmitted would be that the defence lawyer would spend days rejecting jurors who had seen the video on the grounds that they would be prejudiced against his client.

I have a mate who is bald and he has never tried to run anyone over, but his porn addiction is off the scale.

I know we are getting along but it’s a bit early to say we’re now mates.

I saw it on the website of a national newspaper so I think the police have got sod all hope of it not being shared around

Anyone else seen the video? How the bloke gets up (sort of) is unreal. Also a pic of him after standing up with blood on head bizarrely wearing no trousers!

Yes I've seen the full version. Was recorded by a friend of a friend. Absolutely shocking and could easily have killed or disabled the guy. Absolute psycho.

If it came to a jury trial, the first thing any juror would be asked if they had viewed the video.

The wearing of a grey jumper in mid summer is a clear indication there's something not quite right with the assailant, The Argus should be congratulated for highlighting it .

I barely know anyone in Burgess Hill that HASN'T seen the clip. My brother in law in Basingstoke sent me a copy just in case................

The victim (and the alleged attempted murderer I guess) was bloody lucky there was a hedge in front of him and not a brick wall.
