Tosh. Soy's fecking excellent.

Das Reich (he started it) was making a reference to 'soy boys' I fear. You are either gammon or soy, apparently, in broflake world ???

Trust him to drag a thread down with politics and racism, again

I hear they make a lovely sauce but, other than that, nope.

Aside from soy sauce in all its guises, you've got tofu, tempeh, Doubanjiang, Miso, edamame... If you're not a fan of tofu, I'd politely suggest you haven't had it done well.

I wouldn't buy your gammon in Lush. It'll taste of bath bombs.

I couldn’t disagree more.

All the knowing looks to camera & over the top, obvious innuendo – she’s basically Delia Smith doing an impression of Julian Clary.

Thinking man’s crumpet my arse - that’s like saying Mrs Brown’s Boys is the thinking man’s comedy!

I bet she’s dirtier than a farmers doormat.

She's become a parody of herself.

I tried cooking with tofu once and it just fell apart ruining everything. If I'm in Asia for work I'll go for it 8 times out of 10 because they really know how to make it work.

A decent recipe thread started by a mod with zero intention to stir, and you’re the first poster to mention politics and racism, shame on you Harry!

The trick is to dry it out a bit before cooking. Then get your oil smoking hot and dust the tofu with cornflour before adding it to the pan. Then gently move it around. If you're too heavy-handed, it'll break up. You could also try coating it in a light batter before frying.

I'm not saying I wouldn't mind having a go on her, but she can't cook for shit

Her lack of knife skills were a theme on here at one point, although I admit I hadn't been concentrating on her knife skills.

It's poetic that this thread has led to a very helpful tip about cooking a soybean byproduct. :D
