I may have misunderstood your point so apologies if so......but the days of clubs only speaking to players' representatives after a fee has been agreed are long gone.

I have no idea what is happening with White, i just mean in general.

Obviously players reps and clubs talk often about things, that following the rules by the book, they shouldn't do, but no official offer can be made to a player without agreement from the club he plays for. A transfer fee doesn't have to be agreed however, as an example, Dortmund would have given Man Utd permission to talk with Sancho about the move, but then couldn't come to terms on the fee so it never happened.

"Hello Leeds United Football Club"
"Hi, Can I please speak to Andrea Radrizzani, Please"
"Yes, may i ask who's calling"
"Its Tony, Tony Bloom, Andrea will know who I am"
"Just putting you through now Tony"
"Tony......... Andrea, so happy you returned my call, do you have some good news for me"
"Hi Andrea, as a matter of fact I do"
"That's great, so you will accept our offer of 30 million"
"We do think 30 million is probably a fair valuation and reflection of Ben's flourishing achievements to date"
"That's great, fantastic you agree, it may even help me to get Marcelo to sign now, you know he really was holding out to get Ben back here"
"Thats nice for you Andrea, do you want the good news then?"
"I'm sorry, I thought you agreeing a 30 million price is the good news, is it not?"
"No, the good news is it looks like the Duffy's move to Celtic is going ahead and therefore Ben should be slotting straight into our back line, which was always our intention"
"What, and how is this good news for me?"
"I never said it was Andrea, maybe it's wiser not to assume. thanks again for the offer, and for looking after Ben this past year, do try to look on the positives........ you'll get to see Ben play live in the Premier league twice next season - Good luck"

This Tony sounds like a dick

The point was Pritchard could talk to anyone he wanted about wages as he was effectively a free agent. Ben is contracted to us and therefore unlikely they have got to wages when they don't even have an agreement to buy.

I imagine Bloom x Radrizzani talks more like this:

/s of course because I have a lot of respect for Bloom.

Still unsure what 1st choice Defence will look like to fit in White. Which I think is key for him to stay.

Lamptey
White
Dunk
Webster
Burn
Veltman
New LB

Even if we take out unfortunate Burn, to fit in White, that would mean Lamptey, or Veltman not playing. Unless Lamptey moves higher up pitch and Veltman play right back. But, that's still a back 5, what does that mean for midfield?

Do we go 5-4-1, with Lallana acting like a deeper number 10?

He played quite a few games for Delusion Utd, at the base of MF, in the more Stephens role.......He's also comfortable at RB. A lot will depends on what happens to Dunk, is Matt Clarke being kept here or re-loaned? all the talk of White but Clarke also had a great season.

Wouldnt mind seeing White in the DMF in front of the back 2/3. Webster, Dunk, Clarke, Burn, Veltman..... the agony of choice.

Don't forget Clarke (and possibly Ostigard)

I think that we got extra protection because there was a fear that Dunk could go (and he still might)

Nice problem to have. Lots of competition.

We need left sided players though.

Ideally a left wing back and perhaps Bernardo will raise his game?

Bernado is a fine squad player, the odd game, cup games etc, but not quite up to it for a team stating top 10 as its ambition.

There is no 1st choice 11!

Come on Diffbrook. Have you not been watching our games this season? Seriously. He is not a “this is my first 11 mate” kind of manager.

He will interchange multiple systems/lineups/formations from game to game and even mid game.

With the way the hectic fixture list is likely to shape up for the next year, I reckon everyone will be needed at some point.

I keep seeing articles about Clarke going on loan again.

Derby want him back but I suspect he could go anywhere in the Championship.

Maybe we'll have another Ben White situation next year.

Maybe that's the plan going forwards. Help teams to promotion with all our upcoming centrebacks and then dismantle their back line... :p

3-4-1-2

Ryan
Webster - Dunk - White
Lamptey - Bissouma - AMN - Pedraza
Lallana
Connolly - Maupay

Subs: Walton, Burn, Veltman, Alzate, Trossard, Mac Allister, New Striker

Edit: Imagine how many different formations you can make with just those 18 players. Could switch to 4-3-3 without making a sub!

That's a good point. It's a shorter season.

Quite surprised by the 11 to 9 vote against 5 subs for this upcoming season. The European qualified teams are definitely going to struggle, even with bigger squads.

Is the League Cup still going ahead. I remember reading they might cancel it.
