Hodgson is the over 60’s British or Irish exception.

With too few jobs, vast monies in the clubs to bring in allegedly the world’s best coaches, reverse xenophobia, plus a reputation for staid PL football, all make it difficult for CH. Imho he’s now part of grouping with the likes of Warnock, Pulis and Allardyce.

Holding out for a Premier League seems somewhat misguided, at least from the outside looking in. No PL fan base would welcome his appointment. Harsh but true.

The only club, funnily enough in the Prem where he has an outside chance of the job would be Newcastle assuming if Bruce walks and Chris is willing to go back (crazier things have happened).

However it is more likely to be factual than conjecture of many others. Conjecture from newspapers and media outlets have all been inaccurate on so many things that I had to even ask " is that true" ? Only to be told " no not at all "

With the stress of the job and fortunes already earned, I’d call it quits and have a very long retirement enjoying travel and nice things.

I am surprised that Chris has been out of work for more than a year. His Prem football may have been ugly but his Championship football has been decent.

Either he has been too picky or there are some stupid chairmen out there. IMHO he could have done something with Forest this season or Bmuff next season.

I think that’s a bit strong. He’s only talked about cos we all like him so much and want him to do well!

You are correct I know and I accept that. I just get upset with negatively especially around something like waiting for an appropriate job.

He has earned the right to do that. Per the post above. Brighton were the Beneficiary of him waiting for the appropriate job and they are in the PL partly because of those actions that he took in the past.

If I were him, with a very comfortable lifestyle, time to spend with the grandkids, and a very good income from BHA for the next three years, I would be kicking back and saying ‘thank you very much TB’. Throw in some great holidays, and maybe the opportunity of some media work, I would be like a pig in shit.

That last paragraph is massively OTT

People have expressed some opinions about CH job strategy .. after all this is a messageboard.

You have your opinion.... other people have theirs.

As far as I can see people haven’t said CH isn’t good enough or that he won’t get a job... just some have questioned IF he will get the opportunity he wants. Sadly due to your position you can’t be as objective perhaps.

I hope CH gets a job he wants and is successful but doesn’t stop me wondering if he is waiting for an opportunity that isn’t going to come his way.

After working for Albion, CH is not going to want to take just any job. From what I know of various clubs and their ambitions (realistic ones, anyway),

I thought Bristol City would have been a good fit. But it seems they are now going for Paul Simpson from England under-19s.
