Are you allowed to specify which club you want to be transferred to? What if (very hypothetically speaking) BW put in a transfer request because he wanted to go to Leeds, but then another club came along offering Brighton twice as much money than Leeds could afford. Ben could end up spending even more time on someone else's bench, Leeds supporters would be right miffed off, and we'd be quids in. That would be quite amusing. But it won't happen, because I believe (hope) he's a sensible lad.

No he is sold to whoever all parties agree, we agree the fee he agrees terms. However no reason for us to ask more from x against z

We also need to consider who a player is joining and which other squads will we be strengthening by selling. I'd rather sell Dunk to Chelsea than White to Leeds

Clubs do refuse to sell to Certain Clubs

Norwich City point blank refused to sell Wes Hoolihan to Aston Villa purely due to the fact they they had ''Poached'' Paul Lambert as Manager from them

In the bad old days, players were beholden to their clubs and could just be told "right, we've sold you to Barnsley, you're going there next week".

These days, player contracts are much like any other employment contract, and can't be amended or canclled without mutual agreement (or face the wrath of the courts) - a club might suggest a transfer, but the player must agree it. Likewise, a player has no power to unilaterally force through a transfer of their own choosing, without the club's agreement.

If all else fails, the player will sit out the balance of their contract, twiddling their thumbs. For further information contact Mr. M Ozil, 10 Goonington Place, That London.

I would sell Ben White to Leeds in a heartbeat - He is a young lad totally untried and untested at PL Level - He might be great but the likelihood is that he won't be so a side coming up from the Championship with an untried and untested youngster at the heart of their Central Defense might be a god send to other clubs who might be fighting against them in a Relegation Battle next year . Better that than have them go out and buy a tried and tested central Defender to play there in that position

Well you’re wrong. Very wrong. He’s GP’s sort of player. He’s had his eyes on him for ages - before he came to us. It is meant to be!

And if it doesn’t work out......

Putting in a link to something 9years old about Elliott Bennett on the basis that people will jump to the conclusion it is about Ben White.

Respectfully, isn’t spence innocent here?

He was just giving another historical example of an Albion transfer request, with a link rather than a screenshot or narrative.

Make up?
