Personally I’d lob the peel back over the fence. Then head to Tesco and buy every orange they had in stock, cut them in half, wait until night time and plaster them all over his car and buy 100 packets of orange chewits and individually stick each one on his house.

To some extent, the sacking of Pearson is similar to our sacking of CH. Pearson is nothing more than a survival specialist, he is not someone to build around. I don’t understand, however, why they couldn’t wait 2 games to sack him? Surely it would have been best to keep him

Worried about Pearson on Friday. He had that boiling kettle look about him, reminiscent of Martin Allen when someone would call him Mad Dog in a post-match interview, shortly before he'd go and drop his trousers in an altercation with a bouncer in a city nightclub and that sort of thing, or Graham Westley of late, or just a mid-career school teacher about to mysteriously disappear for an indefinite period on health grounds.
Didn't look like the job was doing him any good, but he was great entertainment. Strange that they've been so bad since the restart as they have a decent squad. They'd be all but safe/we'd be a bit jittery had they not conceded that unfortunate late equaliser against us in February.

Definitely looked like he was spoiling for a fight. The lips were starting to curl, the eyes were narrowing and then the comment that the players didn't prepare properly did suggest that he was about to boil over. Can't imagine the dressing room was a pleasant place post match. Watford have a decent squad of players, on paper, perfectly capable of staying up. Trouble is, too many of them down tools when the going gets tough, like the Cup Final, where a number just gave up and they got hammered out of sight. It clearly drives Deeney mad, who manfully drags the team forward but is regularly let down by others, who don't have the same fight in them. It was a huge game on Friday night but they started slowly and failed to respond to the energy of West Ham. Deeney did his best to try and rouse them but it was already game over.
Pearson was clearly struggling with this problem of attitude, exemplified by the three players who arrogantly broke lockdown rules. They, then, hardly featured in his plans, probably showing how he felt but it also may have created further division between him and the squad. I cannot believe that the ' hire em / fire em ' strategy, employed by the board, is good for morale. No sooner have players got used to new systems and ideas, then its all change again. Is it any wonder they have struggled with so many changes in so short a time. Big ask for Mullins to conjure up something from City ( H ) and Arsenal ( A ) but Villa probably have to get 4 points from Arsenal ( H ) and WHU ( A ) and Bmuff have to win at Everton, to have any chance. So 34 points may be enough anyway.

Oh really? I'm not surprised by that. Still, I don't know what's worse Pearson putting himself in a position where the club have to get rid of him. Or the club not biting their tongue for two games and then giving him the boot. Maybe thats a bit simplistic on my part.

"It’s understood Pozzo and technical director Filippo Giraldi had raised concerns in recent weeks about some of the tactical decisions that Pearson had made, bringing poor starts in the majority of matches after lockdown, and this was the final straw.
In a match Watford could ill afford to lose, it’s thought the decision to replace the injured Etienne Capoue with Tom Cleverley rather than a more defensive option of Nathaniel Chalobah disappointed the hierarchy, who watched on as two goals were conceded within the first 10 minutes."
He's done a brilliant job, probably keeping them up. Glad he's going as Watford will probably struggle again without him next season. Be interesting to see which managers they have lined up. Be good to play them early in the season before they bring Big Sam in to resue them.
