Obviously not signing elven players, but here's my "start eleven of signings", fairly realistic players:

GK: Isak Pettersson (IFK Norrköping)

RB: Matt Cash (Nottingham)
CB: Joe Rodon (Swansea)
CB: Mike van der Hoorn (Swansea)
LB: Owen Wijndal (AZ Alkmaar)

RM: Harry Wilson (Liverpool)
CM: Matt Grimes (Swansea)
CM: Fredrik Midtsjö (AZ)
LM: Eberechi Eze (QPR)

CF: Sebastian Andersson (Union Berlin)
CF: Marcus Thuram (Borussia Mönchengladbach)

Several there I have never heard of (including one entire club).

I'm IN!

Since when have any of those clubs been in danger of relegation from the Premier League this season? Harry Wilson just about sneaks in as an answer to the original question on a technicality.

I'd love us to sign Cantwell but he'll have teams higher up the PL after him. Onel Hernandez looked very good yesterday, lots of drive and direct running caused us some problems. Based on the same theory that we signed Will Hoskins for his performances against us, I'd take a better look at him.

Grealish from Villa is the obvious answer but he'd never pass our no dickheads test, and have bigger clubs after him. McGinn looked good earlier this sesaon, but he hasn't come back from his ankle injury/lockdown in the same form.

Ramsdale looks like a very promising young keeper, but we have a couple of our own already. Lewis Cook others have mentioned, David Brooks had a cracking first PL season, but hasn't done much this season, although he is coming back from a very long lay off with an ankle injury. Think bigger clubs would be after him too.

We are not the sort of club who buy bargain basement players who have been relegated. Virtually all signings come from left field (not on the pitch you understand). Expect the same close season. It's the way it is and will always be.

Lewis Cook and David Brooks. Unconvinced by the rest. Both would be coups.

From Bournemouth (Liverpool) Harry Wilson 23 years old will be snapped up by somebody so why not us .

From Norwich Cantwell will be a target for a lot of teams , he's 22 and looks a quality player , Contract until 2022 but we all know what contracts are worth in football

From Villa because they're going down , Marvelous Nakamba , a little older than i'd like at 26 but his name just screams sign me .

Honestly? I wouldn’t be super stoked about any of these players. Generally have all under performed in poor teams.

I think Pukki is on the decline and is too similar too Maupay (who is better).

I’d like to think we’d go for more “Lamptey” type signings. Exciting prospects with their best years ahead of them.

But I will trust the judgement of Ashworth and Potter.

Because Antonio, Brooks, Wilson etc are all established, proven PL players, so the likes of mega spending Everton, as well as Spurs and Arsenal would scoop them up. Demanding over £100k a week in wages, they fall outside of TB’s strategy.

If money was no object, I’d take Sarr, Doucoure, Brooks and Wilson.

I wouldn't mind taking Jamal Lewis, as competition for Bernardo on the left. Seen people mentioning Hernandez, for me he is very similar to Izquierdo, and if he comes back the same player, I feel Izquierdo is the better of the two

Oops, read the first post too quickly.

From the four likely relegation candidates I would go with (excluding completely unreal transfers):

Watford - Pontus Dahlberg. Need a young, very talented keeper especially with the Asian Games coming up in Jan/Feb.

Aston Villa - Matt Targett. I think he got great potential and could become a very decent left back with the right coaching.

Bournemouth - Harry Wilson, as mentioned.

Norwich - Is Grant Holt still around?

More with a view for the season after next, but I think Idah would be a decent gamble. He & Connolly together with game time for us and Ireland could end up being formidable. Still very young & raw, but could be the needed bigger striker to play with a little one.

We’d still need a striker with more experience to replace Glenn in the short term though
This is a good suggestion.

Absolute fantasy, but of the five teams below us:
WHU - Rice CDM
WATFORD - Sarr RM
PLUCKY - Brooks RM
VILLA - maybe Konsa CB, very much a one man team so the obvious answer is Grealish.
NORWICH - Cantwell LM

None of their forwards interest me much, which probably shows why they're below us.

I think the original post needed to clearly state who could we realistically sign and they would want to join us. Strict application of that would eliminate many of the names suggested - see Grealish for prime example.
