Think we just needed to get tonight’s match out of the way without injuries, a yellow for Dunk or a Red for anyone else. Mission accomplished. The icing on the cake was the chances Trossard created and that we didn’t capitulate and let in a confidence shattering number of goals. We should put this down to United being much better than us on the day BECAUSE they have better players.

Agree but would help if when of there forwards moved we went with them.

Redknapp is another pundit stealing a living. Never does any research. Has no idea about anything outside of the top six and thinks that all his job entails is to turn up and be Jamie Redknapp rather than know anything or have anything interesting to say. He's just looked at our remaining games and said that they are all hard and we could be in trouble. The next time he's covering someone down the bottom, he will be shown their run in and say that their games are tough and they could be in trouble.

Somehow he has also managed to extend his reach into awful performances on terrible light entertainment programmes palling around with the likes of Jack Whitehall, Flintoff and that twenty first century Bernie Clifton who has spun a whole career out of knowing Peter Kay. He has never been funny, nor insightful, nor controversial and he wasn't even that good a footballer.

I would rather listen to Neville drone on about his deep love for United in every match we play, than have to put up with that lazy, arrogant human blandness. Neville might be annoying when United are winning, but he is one of the few ex pro pundits who doesn't seem to think that making an effort to be actually good at the work he is paid to do is somehow beneath him.

Perked up a bit in second half. First ten min was pure Hughton. Stephens and Duffy are not good enough.

Correct, it kinda looked like pure Hughton, but actually it wasn't even close, a feckin shambles for the first 45 mins, 2nd half a tad better, Trossard looked much improved.

The jury is still out on Potter as far as I'm concerned, tinkering, tinkering and more feckin tinkering, the boy doesn't know his best team.

I thought exactly that for most of the first half. Everyone behind the ball, stand off the opposition until they get to the 18 yard line then try to force them off the ball without giving away a penalty, followed by a hoof up the pitch to no one and it comes straight back again.....

United were good but we played right to their strengths first half. We were much better second half but the game was gone after their third goal.

It’s a huge mystery to me why some of our better players, like Trossard and Mooy, can look like world beaters one game then disappear for the next few games?

Connolly will be very good with more experience but he’s far too lightweight to play as a lone striker in this league at present.

Still think we’ll be fine this season but we need a lot more if we’re not to be perpetual relegation battlers.....

TBF this can be said about most pundits...

But completely agree. Zero research, and don’t even attempt to known anything beyond top 6 or what topic du jour is.

It’s not just ignorance, it’s wilful ignorance.

And they get paid extraordinary amounts of money for this. Amazing.

Not really a mystery though is it?
Our better players are still lower Prem standard. They will look like worldbeaters 1 game in 5, average in 2 or 3 and poor in 1 or 2.
Occasionally we will get lucky with a dunk who will be above average in 8 out of 10, but that's about it, isn't it?

I am sorry to say but we should ignore most of the second half. Once a team is up 3-0 and only 35 minutes left in the game, of course they are going to take their foot off the gas, defend deeper and look for a counter attack. I am sorry, but only the first 50-55 minutes of this game counted for me and we did not look good. To be honest, MU did not look that amazing either, they made so many silly mistakes and gave away the ball at worst possible places, but of course we gave it right back to them. Lets hope GP can erase this game from memory of the squad and get them positive for the next game.

Prediction: We won't be using the same starting 11 for the next game!!!!!

Can’t believe we took Bissouma out of his central midfield position after his recent MOM performances to accommodate Stephens.
Stephens and Propper did not put a challenge in or track their runners all game.
Once Bissouma was put back to CM in the second half we competed.
We then move Lamptey out of position to accommodate Montoya who never got close to his man.
All in all you could tell the team selection had the game at Norwich in mind...

Yes agree, we need to thank Dale for all he’s done over the last 5 - 6 seasons for us and move him on ASAP, I know Matic & Pogba are a level above him but he looked like he was chasing shadows and marking like one all game.

Duffy looked like he’s put on half a stone over lockdown and Pröpper doesn’t move the ball or himself on quick enough when needed against quality opposition, technically very good but typically of our Dutch signings no intensity and lack of urgency.

Translation: I do not want to count the part we were good in as I would have to praise our staff and players. Therefore, I will only count the bits that were not as good so I can have a right old moan!

Not really. His point stands.

United were in cruise control for the 2nd half. Yes Trossard came on and was decent, yes we had more of the ball and a few efforts on goal. But any notion that they wouldn't have slapped us into next Thursday if they'd actually needed to is utter bobbins. At no point did we have any semblance of control in that game. They OWNED us from start to finish.

I was puzzled at the starting lineup, as Connolly is never going to cut it on his own up front, and pushing Lamptey wide right after his BRILLIANT debut at fullback was just plain f*cking weird. And shit up a stick, how bad can Propper get sometimes.

I'm not going to lose my shit over it though. I expected nothing, and got less than that. If we turn in a performance like that at Narch though, then yes, I'm going to get aggy.

Oh get off the moaners bus would you. The second half was decent against side playing really well. We could easily have scored on another day and not got unlucky with the break for their 3rd.
And **** me, Propper was not that bad, he was fine and picked up an injury. Some "supporters" will do anything to jump on certain players, it is embarrassing and pathetic.

Sorry but I'll call it as I see it, and Propper was junk tonight. Allowed players to run past him, and when we did gain possession, he did nothing but give it away. Bissouma wide left ? What do we get from that ?

Tonight was a free hit, didn't expect anything anyway except to try to compete perhaps - but the game was LONG gone before we got any ideas about pushing forward. Dismal performance with echoes of last seasons rabbit-in-the-headlights displays. Lets hope this was just our "practice game" before the serious stuff starts, because we're still going to need 3-4 points I reckons. I think we're good enough to harvest them from somewhere, but not with weird selections and passive performances like tonight.

I rarely watch either Sky or BT. I always thought the BBC's pundits were bad, but my god, people like Redknapp are just utterly clueless. Honestly. What was he there for, what did he contribute?
