[Albion] Just how good was Lamptey tonight?

Outstanding tonight. Lamptey lived up to every expectation we could have had. Whilst he was exciting going forward it was his defensive work that impressed me, good tackling, good strength in holding people off the ball and of course great speed keeping up with opponents

Stardom awaits. Brilliant debut and he’ll have made Vardy feel old for the first time. It’ll be good to see him and Daniel James go head to head.

Jesus he was good, i do hope we can loan him to a bigger club like Leeds to get some experience....

Him & White are gonna be awesome next season, looks like we’re building something special

Seems like a down to earth lad that is willing to work and fight for his place and the team. Showed a sensible head on his shoulders IMO by seeking first team football at Albion rather than rotting on big money on their reserves. Really impressed with him tonight and hope he continues to build on tonight's excellent display

When I saw the teams on the Sky coverage I realised I'd forgotten he wears #2 and thought those are some boots to fill. He didn't disappoint.

Vardy tries to knock it past him, gets made to look like an old man. This guy could be special. Also if we dont eff it up there are some seriously good English players coming through.

That was a fantastic debut. I would love to see if we could get him and Yapi playing together.

As all have said an excellent debut and against worse defences than Leicester's (thankfully that's most of the division), his attacking intent, pace and balance could be a missing piece of the puzzle, preventing teams from defending narrowly against us like Palace did at Selhurst. However, he's very young and he will make mistakes and suffer the inconsistencies that all young players suffer. Let's not raise expectations too high and let's not pile on him the first time he plays a couple of bad games in a row.

MacAllister also looks like a talent who is willing to work. Commentary tonight said that this was the youngest starting line up we have fielded in the Premier League. With these two, Connolly, Alzate, Bissouma, White and Molumby to return and still more in the U21s, we may soon actually have a contest for the club's young player of the year award, instead of just giving it to Solly every year like we used to.

Excellent debut.

If that's his average then we've got a hell of a player. But as some have said he's only 19 and it's only one game so hopefully we don't bury him under the weight of expectation.

I'd assume it means the end of Schelloto who's main asset is his pace. Although with Bernardo not making the bench and Schelloto having a start and a place on the bench for the last two games maybe it's the end of Bernardo?!

Plays much bigger than his 5'4" stature. We have the squad and manager to play to his strengths and through a system cover for his height. I think he'll be a great addition and hopefully a Prem regular over the next year or so. Full England caps might be a bit ambitious since we're argueably the best in the world at that single position both in terms of starter and depth.

For me Schelotto will be offered a deal perhaps on low money and only a couple of years and whatever he decides to do we'll be onto a winner. Excellent character and depth player.

Brilliant debut - technically strong with good pace, decent positional awareness, and fearless. Seemed completely at home.

Really looking forward to seeing him putting in performances like that on a consistent basis.

Love the greyhound but now is the time to make the push to the next level . He’s not consistent enough for that, as with a few of them. That’s no
Disgrace, it’s just how it is.

Delighted to see the well-considered comments and analysis from Mouldy Boots, Pretty pink fairy and Chicken Run on this thread tonight ???

Lampty was brilliant today. Best Albion debut since Darren Freeman?

You really are something special.

1) you have me on ignore, yet you still feel the need to mention me
2) you attack me with your second and third account
3) this is a sensible football thread and you are trying to change that
4) you have me all wrong
5) I did mention Lamptey in the main football thread,

I can never judge a player on one performance, but after 3 or so like you say, we should get a real feel, whether he is the real deal.

Fingers crossed he can be consistent and deal with any pressure put upon him.
6) I did not watch the game and I listened to it on the radio, so I can only go on Aspinal analysis.

7) grow up.
