[Football] Gut feeling - Albion saying up or going down?

Gut feeling staying up or going down?

So, first of all, I've said we're going down on this thread.

However, I assume if the season gets to an end then all bets placed are on again. And I remember your hole fell out when I asked you to back that prediction of yours, repeated above, up with money.

Never mind, if we get a lower points tally than Hughton got last season I'll still pay the REMF what I promised. They could probably use the money given the cancellation of the charity games and marathon. The tenner I invested on us going down at 10/1 as a misery hedge will probably pay for it anyway.

Lol what are you on about? Do I live rent free in your head or something? What bet? Are you under the impression I slavishly read your posts, why would I do that?

Interesting, I took similar odds too with that bet at £20.

Much depends on if we start this new part season the way we started the actual season or we carry on from where we left.

If I recall correctly we gave up a lot of the early season promise in an effort to carve out a point here or there. With the upcoming fixtures I can't see that changing nor can I see us getting anything from several of them.

Think we'll go down but there'll be nothing much in it so plenty of hope still

If we complete the season we stay up my only concern with how our fixtures fall if we may slip into the bottom 3 at some point and it will be just our luck that is the point it gets voided!
They haven't yet decided what to do if the season is restarted and then isn't completed.

That meeting is on Thursday June 4th.

I expect the albion will have a direct line open to their lawyers while that discussion is happening.

Dear me....such negativity today.
I worry that we could go down in this re start , if we dont hit the ground running and knock up some quick points, but I believe that we won't. Just like the players, supporters have to believe , to anticipate victory..

Voted going down as it was gut feeling. I can be quite a negative person especially during this sh1t. My head says we have a better than even chance of staying up - but my heart doesn't

Yeah, you can get 3/1 on us going down so maybe I voted the wrong way - question was about gut-feeling though rather than reasoned argument

I'm missing a fixture. It's been so long, I can;t remember. Did we have one postponed because the team we were playing were still the cup, or Europe, or am I being a complete NUMPTY ?

I've got 8 of the 9 remaining

Arsenal H
UTD H
Norwich A
Liverpool H
City H
Saints A
Toon H
Burnley A

This was to be moved because of the FA Cup, but they hadn't decided the date.

No longer any reason why it doesn't slot back into the sequence in its original place - after the Arsenal game.

Throwing away 2 vital points at Selhurst, of all places,. instantly springs to mind.

Plus I really wanted to use the word 'tranche'.

I miss France too. :lolol: tranche.jpg

I have been saying we will stay up,to anyone who will listen, for ages.

I would much rather be playing teams with little or nothing left to play for, under the current conditions.
Our fellow strugglers have a lot more games against teams that will be highly motivated.

Covid affected games after the title has been decided, will be a lot easier than they would have been back in March/April.
As long as Potter has done his job with our players, I can see us picking up points against Arsenal/Liverpool/City.

Our big games are Newcastle/Southampton/Norwich. Win those and we are safe, IMO.

Fence - really can't call it

It is going to be a bit of a lottery as there is no form, momentum or anything to go off. The only thing we have that tips me off the fence to staying up is 2 points above the drop zone, and better goal difference.

I also think our home games were tough anyway, with Newcastle the obvious must win, however despite the club's musings on home fixture advantage, facing Burnley, Norwich, Southampton and Leicester without their home crowds behind them could be massive and swings those games toward us rather than not. You might even go mad and think we could get 6 or 7 points from them unlike the 3 or 4 I was thinking would be great at the start of March.

Staying up with style , just need to start taking the numerous chances we create and we'll be fine , keep the faith .

Sadly, I feel we'll be going down but only because the season will be abandoned after the next three games or so and PPG will see us drop, we're Brighton, that's what happens!

Calm down dear. I'm under the impression that you read the ones that are a direct reply to you, with your message quoted. You mysteriously disappeared when money came up. Funny that.

Just so long as we stop dicking around with it at the back like a bunch of fannies who only met each other for the first time in the carpark before kick off. Sadly, I think we will still be fanny-central in and around the 18 yard box as this is the way Potter likes to build possession from the back.

It only takes a momentary lapse to gift a goal at this level and we still have too many momentary lapses in us. So for this reason, I'm out. :(

I think we have a few things in our favour:

1. The weather - we are not a pacy, counter-attacking side and our results tend to be better during the drier months.

2. Alexis MacAllister - he'll be used to playing in the heat, the opposition won't know much about him, he could be our X Factor.

3. Lamptey - useful squad player, could even break through in these final 9 games. An exciting prospect.
