There is No case to answer the police are not interested

Which fits your political beliefs but unfortunately it's completely incorrect. You are allowing your political beliefs to cloud your judgement.

The police were very interested, interested enough to push through an inquiry quickly at a very senior level.

Their conclusion is clear. In their belief he broke the law and their gave us the procedure they would have enacted if he had been stopped. That procedure being to inform him he must turn round and go home (*).

They can't do that unless he has broken a law.

You many need to read that again, feel free to use diagrams (crayons permitted) to understand a complex scenario such as going somewhere you shouldn't and the Police asking you to go back to where you came from. Imagine yourself in a women's toilet - that may help.

However, their guidelines (and it differs from force to force) dictate that they won't be retrospectively be acting upon the offence (yes it was one) because they haven't in other cases. In that respect Cummings may in find it refreshing to be dealt with the same as the "little" people for a change.

(*) I've stopped using the word home in inverted commas since another Cummings lie has exposed the truth. It isn't a "spare cottage" on his fathers farm because Cummings is listed on the Land Registry as a joint owner. By definition he drove to his second home, a home which has received 235,000 euros in EU subsidies.

He was at sea. A normal day in the RN.I didnt see the need frankly. Land forces, air , of course. Boarding ships looking for smuggled goods. A 'tour' Not so much.

Although chronologically our paths never crossed in the Andrew, is it safe to say if they had you and I would probably not have shared a couple of tins of CSB and a dit on the quarterdeck?..

Of course its its possible to have a NHS without the EU as you said BUT that's not the point i was making and which you are skirting round. Boris and his gang care nothing for the NHS and its not safe in their hands whether we are in the EU or outside it however they have been voted in again because of Brexit when people should have focused on key things like the NHS. On a secondary point not sure when you were last in hospital but I have spent many days in various hospitals (not for me) in their critical care areas and they are full of EU staff. On one ward 90% of the team were from an EU background. Yes you could argue we should be filling posts from within or can just ship in from Philippines etc but that will still put a massive drain on the resource in the short term
I skirted round nothing. Leaving the EU was my primary concern. Perhaps other parties would have stood a better chance at the election if they hadn't been so gung-ho on stopping us leaving the EU contrary to the people's vote to leave. Yes, I hold a different view to you - not my problem, so please don't presume to tell me what I should have done. We've still got the NHS, in spite of both parties messing with it when in office - remember Blair and the expansion of use of PFIs?

There are still plenty pedalling this bollocks, but, when you see the relentless pressure and power of the right wing press it's understandable that the " Angry Mob " always seems to be directed at Labour.. My late mother always voted Tory ever since she asked my dad who she should vote for in the early 60's and he said Tory.... she never took note of political debate or policies and steadfastly voted for the Blue Donkey put up by our constituency time after time.
About the time of the election that Gordon Brown lost she actually asked a bit about both main parties and what they had done for pensioners like her, I pointed out that it was Labour who had instigated free bus passes for pensioners, a free TV licence for over 75's and a £300 winter fuel allowance , she said " I never knew that was Labour that did that ? " … she still voted Tory though.

The only bollocks on here are those so dense or prejudiced that they won’t accept truth even when it is staring them in the face.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-14888933

If you wanted to be less partisan you could reflect that the Tories could have been even worse at regulating the bankers etc. and had an even lighter regulatory touch. All very valid points, but the TRUTH is Labour we’re in charge.

And, it was not global bankers that forced Northern Rock to offer 125% mortgages or Bradford & Bingley to have a majority of self certified mortgages on their mortgage book, which were key root causes in their demise.

It was not global bankers that allowed an out of control RBS to acquire a toxic ABN AMRO, because the decision to allow Fred Godwin’s bank free rein and not complete the standard regulatory due diligence was a choice made at the top, as was his knighthood.

So, stop the sixth political bollocks and accept the truth Gordon Brown May have introduced a freeTV licence, he also once said he had abolished the cycle of boom and bust. For his role in the 2008 crisis he should have been horse whipped with his fellow tory warmonger mate Blair.

Capital is global. The 'working class' is global and includes immigrants.

I work to protect the rights of workers globally. Not just the ones that happen to sound or look like me.

I always like to reply out of courtesy, but this is nonsense.

As a political message at best this is bordering on communism, and you maybe a communist at heart, and to be honest I supported much of their analysis on the workings of the EU, however communism as an ideology is an irrelevance in this country. Sorry to break that to you.

No this about Cummings and Cummings only which something you don’t want, hence the whataboutism that you are playing. Suggest you start new thread on kinnock and immigrants.

Based on the mood of this boards I also want Cummings out, as I want to punish other transgressors regardless of status.

The NHS was to be protected at all costs, stay at home was the message, not

Drive to Durham and then Bernard Castle
Drive from South Wales to London for you Dads birthday,
Go to a park and sit their drinking all day with your mates, and certainly not
Pile into dinghies with 20 others and cross the channel

All transgressors, all should be punished.

MPs whether in Government or not have far more responsibility than appointed advisors, I am surprised I need to spelll that out to you.

Still, every days a school day.

Does it really need spelling out? He shouldn't be sacked because he broke lockdown, he should be sacked because he's part of the senior government team responsible for designing and enforcing the lockdown rules.

I agree, I am on record agreeing sack him.

As long as others that blatantly broke the rules too are also sacked and punished.

Kinnock did, so did Tahir Ali, so did Jenrick.

Sack them all.

No place for your anti refugee agenda here. I hesitate to call it a racist agenda, but that’s my instinct. But I won’t call it that. Let’s just go with anti refugee.

And for the record, people who were caught with mates in parks drinking were fined.

This is about Cummings.

You’re feeble arguments are almost as pathetic as you.

I appreciate you don’t want to confront certain facts that arise in the cut and thrust of chat, but my first post today was about the gross economic negligence of the last labour Government. That was not about Cummings but no one came up with claims of whataboutery.

Debates swing to and fro, throwing out points like whataboutery are a relatively new way for some to avoid certain points in debates, typically to those with opposing views.

I think it came in about the same time people starting using the word racist to do the same.

I may be wrong about the timing.

They're more at home slugging insults back at some of the more bitter remainers on the Brexit thread. On here, they are unable to grasp the concept of cross-party agreement, so their posts become increasingly pointless.

Correct, some are unable to untwine themselves from previous debates, it's quite sad. Moreover, the unwillingness to accept that your chose one may be flawed, that the king of your cause may be somewhat flawed is pathetic. Nobody actually believes that Cummings has 'done nothing wrong' despite what they may, increasingly desperately, claim.

The mention of Brexit is apt for me, I continue to think it's a bad idea BUT I can see what people see in it, there is some logic in my eyes. Support for Cummings lacks this, it has no basis in sound reason.
