The Wigan Kebab. Yes - a meat and potato pie, in a white barm.

Hardly believable until you go to a Jockland Chip Shop and realise there is absolutely nothing that they won't throw into the Fryer.

Including Christmas dinner and Turkish Delight.

Presumably washed down with a bottle of Buckie or a can of Irn Bru for the teetotaller.

I thought I had seen it all during my Offshore Years, clearly not.

Do the Jocks have ongoing health problems with their middle-aged and elderly population I wonder?

Taiwanese Stinky Tofu. Smells as good as it looks and tastes as good as it smells...…..

They certainly have lower life expectancy than people in England & Wales. Particularly in Glasgow.

Life expectancy for a male in the UK these days is just over 79 years: in Glasgow it's 71.6.

Not all down to Mars Bars, I'm sure.

When we stayed in Edinburgh old town a couple of years ago.
We walked everyday down to M&S to get our food (unless we eat out), there were a lot of huffers and puffers about with fried things eminating from their Scottish gobs, all were on the large side.
Truly an amazing site

Not in WIGAN, it isn’t.

I was in Rotherham for a course a couple of years ago and they offered us a "bread cake".

Cue bemused looks until they explained what they were on about.

"Oh, you mean a roll?".

Hot chilli sauce with shrimp and fish sounds pretty banging. Probably need a rebrand if they want to conquer the globe though.

The vagueness of 'fish' really sells it to me.
