I forgive you, after all, 'to err is human'.. Everyone makes mistakes, Governments, organisations, society and individuals. I just hold the view that it is wrong to 'shitstorm' the Government at this time.
As the Times says,'There will be plenty of time for a full public enquiry into mistakes.'

There’s a difference between making mistakes and dithering though, a huge difference. And the biggest complaint is Boris’ dithering. Pretty much everything he is doing is later than it needed to be. And the only way to make him speed up is to create a ”shitstorm” so he reacts.

That said, now he’s done a runner maybe his sub-ordinates might do a better job.

No doubt the NHS will be massive at the next election - which gives Labour a huge boost. Here’s hoping they prove strong opposition at the very least.

Of course he could. His initial address to the nation for the lockdown was him on his own in a room. He could easily have a single camera-man masked up and suited if necessary to take an address, or as you say just use a video link like everyone else is. Completely hiding unless of course his symptoms are a lot worse than is being reported.

Which is why he should be given the benefit, I know that I wouldn't want to deal with the media if I had the virus and were ill with a fever. To be fair he looked as rough as a badgers arse last time he was on the telly. Follow Bozzas advice and be kind.

He's not done a runner, I think he's ill and therefore off grid with the virus.

Quite possibly, but a bit of an extreme thing to do to avoid the media.

If things and NSC weren't strange enough there's now a virtual Grand National on the telly. Is all of this a dream ?, a bad one, a suspension of reality.

Does anyone remember the 'shake hands' scene from boys from the blackstuff, this is what this thread reminds me of.

WINS.

Labour have a proper leader again.

Game On.

I am happy with that, he has no chance.

He is so unlikable, dull and boring.

He also backed staying in the EU with gusto, when the majority of his voters wanted to leave.

Should have been Nandy, she would have been the nearest Labour candidate to get my vote in the past 38 years.

The news only reports what it is told to report.
People in care homes are not even being tested, nor being admitted to hospital, so won't be included in official figures.

I don't believe the Chinese figures one iota.

In fact, who's figures can you trust???

I'm not sure the labour party is interested in your vote. It's needs to get rid of extremist nutjobs, not attract more.

Well he is likeable to me.

Having spoilt my vote in the last 2 elections, finally to have someone I could vote for is actually a cause for a smile.

In a world of increasing social equality, I think Labour have completely messed up not appointing a woman and went for the perceived “safe option”!

As I replied on the good news thread regarding testing if we'd moved quicker to test NHS staff first and isolate and test the contacts of known cases second we'd have saved lives. Look at South Korea. That, and the lack of PPE has come not from the government's advisers but from a complete failure to order the tests and equipment. We've bunged the country trillions into debt without spending on the right things. A shit show.

Unfortunately BLOCK F, many 'top' medics and scientists are not really 'top' at all, but are instead consumate politicians, charmers and, indeed, bedazzlers. So, yes Guinness Boy, decisions what ought to be scientific or medical are quite often merely political.

Apologies for the grammar - I have been toying with alternative forms of expression recently, and finding that not stitching to the usual norms is quite deliberating.
