Hi Everyone,

I hope you are all doing OK in these tough times? just wanted to put this link out there in case there is anyone working from home that needs to do an online meeting but doesn't have the facility to do so.

https://freeconferencing.vonage.com/

I haven't tried it myself but went on a Webex call earlier in the week that took 20 minutes to load properly due to the amount of people on the service so even if it is a backup option, at least you will have one!

Zoom is good - and I think they've temp removed the 40 min conference length limit on the 'free' version

Zoom is very good (my preferred solution)
However, the popular ones have been experiencing capacity issues so always good to have one up your sleeve!

Vonage also do cloud based phone systems (basic ones for office and more advanced ones for call centres) that I think they are doing cheaper/free too so if needs are greater than conferencing take a look. I know lots of businesses have already started moving things to the cloud but I think the current crisis is going to create a massive shift once we are out of it.

Indeed it is, not least because you can select a virtual background. I chose a picture of a packed pub for yesterday's calls.

Have stopped short of the brothel background but that may have to be done at some point

I need to find this background thingy!

Good enough for Fat Larry. Good enough for everyone.

I need to find this background thingy!

Click on the arrow next to 'stop video' and at the bottom of the list is choose virtual background - you can use videos or photos - every meeting becomes that little more interesting. I was taking my meeting from a posh New York apartment earlier
