Does it ****. We were nailed on for relegation this season if he’d stayed IMO.

No way that you can surmise that kind of result. Going by history, Hughton always did his job and never had his team relegated.

It is okay to give Potter more time but not Hughton although the Albion will finish in relatively the same position in the tables.

It really doesn't matter what Hughton might or might not have done. That ship has sailed. We had a disappointing result yesterday but we are in a run of very winnable fixtures. It would a ridiculous and unnecessary risk to change managers now regardless of whether we think Potter has done a good job or not and personally I think he's doing an excellent one. Our destiny is very much in our hands and I think we are a couple of good signings from being a very good side. The Villa goal was about individual mistakes rather than poor tactics etc plus our failure to take our chances which cost us the win. Time to review where we are is the summer, not now...

Potter needs backing with signings, the striker situation in particular.

That's assuming he wants another striker. I hope he does.

Are people really saying we are playing some of the beat football they’ve ever seen? Oh my god...just shows how many JCL’s we’ve picked up since promotion.

Our promotion season we played expansive attacking football. Better than the dross we’ve been served up with over the last 3 seasons!

Our style of play is no different to last years except then other than hitting the ball long, we’re taking another 20 minutes to move the ball into the opponents half because we’re pissing around with the ball(where usually Webster or A midfielder panics and loses the ball) for that time.

Our movement in the final third is frankly woeful and we are not pressing as much as we should do with the players we have.

I was sceptical of the Potter appointment as Swans fans I know say he changes formations too frequently and doesn’t give time for tactics to bed in and he plays players in odd positions. He has done exactly that and it’s not paying off.

His substitutions have been poor and tactics are naive.

must agree with most of that, perhaps it is an age thing.

Oh come on our style of play no better than last season??!!! Last season we were the worst side for entertainment with awful defensive football and stayed up through sheer luck. We were hammered in games that we didn't show up in whereas this season we've been hammered once at city. Apart from Chelsea away man u away and Sheffield u at home where we deserved nothing we are in every game despite not being at our best. That is the big difference over last season

Not sure if you’ve noticed but we are actually having shots on goal this season.

Not something that was happening after xmas last season .... in fact I believe we had 3 home games where we managed to have a combined total of 2 shots on target.

Those saying we are no better than last season are talking absolute nonsense and clearly have an agenda.

The performances last season notably Wolves away, Spurs away and Newcastle at home first half made me genuinely embarrassed to be a Brighton fan. Every other team in the league wanted us down due to our ant-football approach.

This season we are playing some great football and absolutely dominating teams without, yet, finding the finishing touch. It’s night and day in terms of entertainment and football philosophy. We are also better off points wise than we were at the same point last season albeit marginally.

Anyone who wants Potter out is an idiot who doesn’t understand football.

You have a point.

I’d disagree regarding Potter’s first few months, there was plenty of exceptional football by Albion standards.

But if anyone claims we’d played scintillating football of late, tearing the following opponents apart, they’re deluded lickers:
Massive H
Chelsea H
Everton A
Villa H
Sheff Utd H

We’ve hit a rut. Not sure if the answers can come from Potter, or if TB needs to do transfer business in the next 12 days?

I'm Potter in for sure.

Honestly think we've just come out of the busy December schedule a bit jaded. We've had a bit of a defensive mare with Burn's injury and Dunk's short suspension giving us a bit of an unsettled back line during a congested fixture list.

And Webster, though I think he is a good player, definitely has a Championship mistake waiting to happen sometimes.

Of course we're also lacking up front. Which is something we've been saying for, what?, seven years?

If you are judging it on points, those people would be correct.
If those people wanted potter out, maybe it’s because relegation is staring us in the face and they feel a change might save us.
For the record, I’m not potter out but there has to be an acceptance that potterball, for want of a better word, isn’t cutting it where it counts.
There was a poster on here a few weeks ago who said they couldn’t mind if potter took us down, provided we were playing nice football...... wtf.
