[Albion] Why is Dunk consistently overlooked by England?

Yeah that argument by Southgate doesn’t really hold water as he’s picked Tarkowski and Mings.

From the horse's mouth:

.“In the ideal scenario you want players that are playing in matches where they’re pushing to win trophies,” he says. “The extra pressure that comes with those games is what you have to deal with [when you are] with England. When you’re playing for big clubs, there’s a responsibility to perform every week. With lesser clubs, sometimes you can lose and there isn’t a big inquest.

“Of course there is one within the club and locally but with the big clubs that’s national. The profile is just bigger and it’s closer to what they face with the national team.”

I agree completely with what they was saying. It's because he plays for Brighton. I have said that from the start.

Likewise.

If he'd moved to Leicester in the summer (which many thought might be on the cards after they fleeced Man U for Maguire) then he would probably have another couple of caps by now. He would certainly have made some of the squads. His performances have MORE than warranted it, but BHA just aren't on Fishlips radar. He's probably turned off MOTD and gone to bed long before we feature.

Lewis is having his most accomplished season yet in my opinion. He does look every inch an international defender. His passing under Potterhas improved and now has a huge range, and he is showing willing to come out of defense with the ball. He also marshals and leads those around him.

Given some of the names Southgate is picking instead, I am currently at a complete loss as to why Dunk is being overlooked.

Unless it is a bouncing long ball over the top which seems to do him every time either giving away a foul, or ending up on his arse

As an aside, I do find it quite amazing how many Palace fans casually band posts around on Twitter (and the BBS) saying that Dunk is a "rapist". There's some on that very twitter thread above.

Imagine if @officialbhafc picked up on it, and after consulting with him, decided to call in the lawyers.

Given their own 'legend' Neil Shipperley is convicted for ******* in front of a mum & 16 year old girl, they really should be careful what they throw around.

Dunk = was never up for rape, and was found not guilty of what he was anyway
Shipperley = convicted flasher

Pity they don't. Doesn't it amount to libel?
