Ryan 4 Saved by VAR twice with two very uncharacteristic mistakes.
Montoya 5
Burn 6
Dunk 6
Webster 1 Most error ridden performance I have seen from a Brighton player. Must be dropped as his confidence is shot
Mooy 6.5
Trossard 6 Isolated
Propper 5
Gross 5
Stephens 5
Maupay 6
Subs
Connelly 6
Biss 6.5
Murray 3

I was watching them before kick off and they were very relaxed, like they were just about to have a kick about. Really unprofessional attitude, maybe the good performance against Palace made them think they were the dog's.

They looked completely unprepared for the task at hand. Sheffield Utd offered no surprises today, we knew what was in front of us . Every one of their players were efficient, well drilled and focused, ours? Well!!

How many times did we head or chest the ball to their players? How many times did they do it?

What was the plan we started with having Mooy and Gross in each others pockets on the right leaving Trossard completely isolated?

At half time why panic and throw on two strikers? We just needed to start again but with the right attitude.

Webster had to come off, Trossard needed to be kept on but given support and Bissouma had to come on for Propper with Alzate then coming on later to give us more trickery.

Poor performance all round, management included.

Great post especially regarding the attitude. Faux confidence which turned into a lack of confidence by the end. Webster was on his knees by the end. Passing wasn't true. Dunk didn't galvanise the others either. So so disappointing.

Ryan - 2 (several mistakes, at fault for both VAR goals)

Montoya - 3 (passed the ball like it weighed three tonnes and needed kicking as hard as possible)
Webster - 0 (fortunate to score this highly, played like he was drunk)
Dunk - 4 (couldn't do a lot effectively playing as a lone centre-back, caused our best moment in attack first half)
Burn - 3 (surely time to drop the experiment and play a proper LB< one prepared to deliver the ball into the box)

Propper - 2 (score upped as was better second half but still terrible attempts at service)
Stephens - 2 (back to the bad old days of giving it away all the time)
Gross - 0 (utterly ineffectual)

Mooy - 5 MOTM (not on the ball enough, everything good came from him)
Maupay 3 (didn't have the ball hardly all game)
Trossard - 0 (did f*ck all)

Subs;
Connolly - 5 (had more joy than Trossard, forced a save, looked a handful)
Murray - 3 (why was he playing in midfield?)
Bissouma - 4 (at least gave us some impetus)

Spot on about Webster, Trossard & Gross .... the latter two were invisible men, astonishing really.

From where I sit, the Bissouma foul in the box looked a nailed on penalty.

Obviously not, as VAR didn't kick in and no-one's talking about it.

Anyone got any footage of it?

It was men against boys today. Those men were professional footballers, and the boys were the year 7 PE five-a-side team made up of the videogame nerds and comic geeks who have no interest in football.

They had hunger, organisation, discipline. They were able to pass to a team mate. They were able to read the flight of the ball, and read the game. Allowing them to pressure the right players, intercept with ease. We were the opposite, couldn't pass to a team mate, could read the flight of the ball to adjust, didn't want the ball enough. We played like we were following a script that both sides had read, and they decided to ad lib, taking advantage of the rigidity and predictability of our play.

It was just an all round terrible performance by us, making it easier for them to dominate the game.

Ryan 4 - not at his best
Montoya 1 - dogshit
Webster 1 - dogshit
Dunk 5
Burn 4
Stephens 1 - dogshit
Gross 2
Mooy 6 - kept trying despite them double teaming him
Propper 5 - nice bits of skill but a couple of times where he gave up. Generally we were bullied in midfield
Maupay 3 - isolated in first half, anonymous in the second
Trossard 2 - worst game for us so far

Bissouma 5 - made a bit of a difference
Murray 2 - you can see he's not playing regularly
Connolly 6 - a fair bit of the reason we at least had a lot of territory in the second half.

Bad day at the office against a very fit, organised, strong and cynical team who could and should have beaten us by four or five.

Worst game under Potter by a country mile.

Blatant dive.

Shame it ended that way as at least he was trying to do something positive and make a difference with that run which is more than the rest did in the game (Connolly aside).

We need a reaction to this.

Every Albion person including Potter were out thought, out fought and found wanting.

We did not look like scoring again, this is a massive problem we need to solve quickly.

Ryan 2 - their two VAR goals were an embarrassment.
Montoya 3 - we need a better right back.
Dunk 3- poor on the ball minus one pass to Connelly. Didn't galvanise the team when we needed it. Outmuscled at times as well.
Webster 1 - performance had me feeling I was back at Priestfield. It was so bad. Defend man. Overthinking everything and doing nothing well. 4 absolute calamitous mistakes. If Duffy doesn't start next then that is terrible man management of him alone let alone Webster.
Burn 6 - never lets anyone down and plays as well as he can. Wish others did.
Stephens 2 - really poor. Did not see him making 1 tackle either which is kind of his job. Never should have started against a counter attacking team at home. Monday showed he's not indispensable. One pass into Connellys feet second half.
Propper 5 - tried his best as a right back second half. Not great first. Should have been in the middle 2nd half not Stephens.
Trossard 4 - would have rather kept him on instead of Murray though.
Gross 4 - nothing.
Mooy 6 - only player who looked like he could do something.
Maupay 4 - felt sorry for him first half but the teams performance resonated into him and he was as poor as the rest by the end.
Subs
Connelly 7 - made them run the other way.
Murray 1 - came on and fouled. When he didn't foul, he gave the ball away. Best ever striker in my time of watching BHA (minus Bobby) but his time has sadly passed. Could say we don't play to his strengths but that was awful
Bissouma 4 - felt he should have started after Monday with today's type of game in mind. Needs more to his game than just trying to work an angle for a shot though.
Potter 3 - well done for early subs but that should have included Duffy for Webster. Really poor attitude to start the game then lacking confidence at the end. Wilder did a job on him it seems.

About right, apart from Bissouma. He made mistakes and makes mistakes but at least he attempts to give the opposition something to think about.
He should have started this match as his unorthodox approach disrupted Sheffield United. Our slow, overwrought, side-to-side-to-side-to side style in the first half played into their hands. You wonder what our army of scouts and analysts actually do sometimes.
I thought Propper looked effective on the right in the second half. I prefer him there than in the centre.
Mooy is increasingly influential but his set piece delivery was poor today. We never threatened from numerous set piece chances despite having a fair few mountains.
gross + mooy in same team doesn’t work.
As for Webster - if he starts ahead of Duffy in the next game something is not right. He was so off it today that I felt sorry for him.

Takes a fan to understand. Who do you think you are calling out others who actually turn up?

I heard no boos from the North Stand on 20 mins towards any Brighton player.

This!! What a tool comment by someone who wasn’t there!

Absolute shocker by Webster and confidence must be shot. Big Shane for Spurs surely. Uncharacteristically poor displays from Dunk and Ryan. Ryan saved by VAR twice and whilst not the main culprit for the goal I thought he should have been able to stop Mcburnie getting the shot off.

Bissouma just looks so naive always jooking for an angle to shoot when there are easier options. Not forgetting shocking dive when in a good position.

Felt sorry for Murray. With hardly any game time and the how we needed to chase this game he was on a hiding to nothing. Gave the ball away or fouled.

Trossard may be an upgrade temperament wise on Knocky but now looks his best role is just as an impact sub rather than than a player who can torment defenders all match long.

What makes today's display so frustrating is that it comes off such a good albeit unrewarding effort at Palace.

Not sure we should be playing Trossard and Gross together. They seem to be tripping over each other most of the time!

What happened to the Trossard of early season!? Thought he looked a world beater then but seems like he’s lost all confidence at the moment...

Trossard seemed our best signing of recent years. Since then a lost lamb, PL games passing him by, outmuscled, he seems tiny against opponents. I expect he’ll come good.

I took a day off work and drove 160 miles to watch that absosute shite (I am sure people had longer journeys). It was the most disappointing performance I have seen for a while, on a par with some of the games in the second half of last season. Yes, I was absolutely furious. I did not boo, but heard the half time boos coming from the North (I was North, bordering west lower).

Sideways, sideways, forward, sideways, back, back and repeat. Put the bloody ball in the box or take a shot for chrissakes!!!!!
