[Football] Should England players walk off if racist chants kick off in these next two matches?

It's like installing a massive Red button with a 'Do not Touch' sign underneath. You know full well someone won't be able to resist it.

Whilst I am not condoning racist behaviour, Bulgaria is a predominantly white, mafia run country where pubs cheerily show pornos at 16.00 in the afternoon. Attitudes are light years away from here. I'm not sure what the answer is but threatening to walk off is probably more encouraging than preventative. Whatever the answer is, its a generation before it gets fixed at least.

See you there Dave. I haven't got a ticket but hoping to pick one up.

Would also be very surprised if there is any racism rubbish from the Czechs.

Enjoy...

Like you, I'd be very surprised if there's any racist nonsense from the Czechs.

That's the problem right there. They are not dealing with it. Bulgaria are playing behind semi closed doors (5000 seats less) because of chants in 2011.

Then there’s no point playing the match then? Or the players should be lobbying UEFA?

Well if that's the case, then in a generation's time, they should be allowed to host international football again.

Until then, make them play behind closed doors, make them play at neutral venues or, in the worst case, ban them . It really should be that simple.

No they should not walk off they are just fuelling the fire by doing so. Also where do you draw the line? Can teams walk off because one of the players in their team is getting abused as he used to play for them but left under a cloud after agitating for a transfer? David Beckham used to get dogs abuse 'his ugly wife his ugly kid' the song went, was no talk of him walking off the pitch. Did Huddersfield threaten to walk last season when Alex Pritchard was abused at the Amex? Also the amount of money these guys get paid surely must sugar the pill, pay me 200 grand a week and call me whatever you like. Realise the NSC liberal elite will be all over this and no doubt a 'words fail me' will soon be coming my way.

Yes, I see what you are saying. Perhaps if the ref were to do it, and observe UEFA's code for such behaviour, that would be an acceptable solution, and perhaps sway a crowd reaction more, but will your average ref, faced with such a charged situation, actually do so? . .

Remind the class, which of the incidents involve RACIST abuse, again?

Seriously - we get that you think you're proper EDGY and BLOKEY, and NSCs warrior, fighting the good fight against all things you perceive to be PC GONE MAD, but it really is impressive how permanently wrong you are.

We'll just continue to call you a dick, for free. Cheers

I dont think that the teams should as it means the racists have won but if the ref stops the game that is a different matter. So all on the refs shoulders acting under instructions from either FIFA or EUFA as appropriate.

That’s the root of this. UEFA DO NOT HEAR THE CHANTS.

Or FIFA.

I was talking about abuse in general directed at footballers. We hear so much about racist abuse but the other types of abuse footballers endure is ignored.

Never claimed to be edgy or blokie or a warrior. I just happen to hold the 'wrong' views on things. You are entitled to your opinion about me and how 'permanently wrong' I am.......like in the Ched Evans case eh sunshine!!!

Getting called a dick from such a pompous person really doesn't bother me in the least.

If I see your posts, I usually make a point of reading them, but assume on this occasion you have obviously started the Friday drinking early.

Good point. Without the back-up from FIFA and ALL officials in the game that can verify any racism and take immediate action, it will just continue.

On the other hand, if we walk off it would ruin the tournament, highlight the problem and compel FIFA to actually do something? The question is what?

I just hope that we don't walk off, get no back up, no replay and the racist morons win the day.

If the officials handle this right and play it by the book, would that make any difference? Or are the players going to walk anyway just to highlight the issue regardless of assurances from FIFA that something will be done. It's not clear to me what instructions the players have been given in the event of an incident. Is a replay guaranteed in the event of a walk-out?

Or perhaps it is rather a question of not wanting to hear, which then gets them off the hook and avoids nasty punishments -far better to fine or close part of the ground. I would be happy for the team to walk off and then let's face up to UEFA if they want to deduct points; in the subsequent confrontation, we will at least see which other countries have the same degree of moral courage - don't hold your breath! But, it would be better if the ref does it, on balance, but again -don't hold your breath.

Racist abuse is abhorrent, and is against the law. Booing Alex Pritchard for choosing another club, is not. This stuff really isn't difficult.

Seriously - you've just implied that making monkey noises at black footballers is okay, if they earn enough money to make up for it! FFS.

You're entirely one-dimensional. You might as well save your effort typing because the 'views' you hold on every issue are so predictable - whether it be this case, or women referees, or sexuality, or yes - Ched Evans. Interesting thing to drag back up - in your staunch defence of Evans - that his behaviour involved absolutely nothing to apologise for - you were wrong on that as well.
