We won at St James Park last year so 2 points down.

Apologies, that is correct, but we robbed them in that match.

But this season we smashed them in every department whereas they smashed us last season, we just need to fine-tune our front play.

There really is nothing to panic about, how long has Potter been with these boys 3 months?

It so early, I find it unbelievable anyone should be judging us yet.

How did we smash them in every department when we didn't score?

We could be in the bottom three tomorrow if Newcastle get anything. Last season we didn't drop into the relegation zone at all.

We were by far the better team at SJP, but obviously toothless upfront again. Sky spent the half hour pre match in a pathetic NUFC love in, then the hour post match praising us to the hilt. Really surprised I think.

Are you serious or are you bringing your Brexit prejudice against me on this thread???

The way we finished under Hughton, we would be on minus points by now if he had stayed, have you forgotten we were dropping like a stone?

We are actually on 6pts after 7 matches and last season we were on 5 pts, both with a -5 GD, so 1 point up, it's way too early to get excitable about.

Potter is rebuilding and finding his best side.

Onwards and upwards, worry at xmas if needed, but Tony will buy that striker if needed.

That's what worries me.

Today was not a good day in the office, but our injury list is pretty horrific right now. Any team that loses proper, March, trossard, Duffy, Bernardo and Izzy would struggle.

The passing out of the back is fine provided we can break through pressure. Right now we pass between Stephens, the back three and Ryan, then lump it to our small strikers. We need to find our way between the lines and posses the ball, instead of trying (and today failing) to win a second ball up the field. I think part of it is the injuries and the lack of fluidity to our 11 right now.

I think the bigger concern is the performance of the newly promoted teams. All are playing well and going for it in games. I put us in the mix of relegation with watford, Newcastle, Villa, Sheffield Utd and Norwich. At least one of the promoted teams will stay up.

A month ago I voted 'so so' and I would vote the same way again today.

On the one hand there is still positivity, but I have concerns that the positivity isn't going to materialise with sufficient results and we will go down thinking that we played well and could have won 10+ games, we were just unlucky. Potentially it will be worse, i.e. morale will be shot before long.

I hope not and think that there is a very reasonable chance things will click and the results will match the positivity on the pitch.

Ultimately I can realistically see things going either way.

A Woeful recruitment policy has ultimately led to our current conundrum so have some sympathy for Potter although he could be complicit. I think 3 of our loan players would have been in or close to the starting 11 today if they were still at the club. Does Mooy offer any more than Kayal? Knockaert would give us some desperately needed width. Andone some pace. Before anyone states Andone is a bad apple the recruitment team should have established that before he was ever signed. Not getting more strikers in before letting two go after the window? Lets not even start on Ali J and Locadia. Very very poor and this time I think it could send us down.

I don't carry prejudices. I hope we do get better when the injured players are back.
I also feel we've had some bad luck, but I'm not happy with the club's recruitment and loans out.

Thats good nor do I.

I agree the about the loan outs, I wanted to keep Knocky and Andone, but I respect Potter for making decisive decisions, it refreshing to see.
When he makes half time subs there is a stirring in my loins, I love that.

Yeah i'm very concerned about the promoted teams. Our games against all 3 will be big 6 pointers. Plus we always get smashed at carrow road!

Injuries are killing us at the moment. Really missing March as a very good defensive wingback on the left and Trossard’s creativity in the middle, compounded today by Pröpper being unavailable too. Get those three back and we’ll be winning games.

They will all stay up based on their performances so far which leaves the relegation places to be distributed between ourselves, Newcastle and Watford .... again, based on current form and IMHO.

Will that be the promoted teams that (2 of) are currently below us?

We've had no luck and been far too profligate, but I don't think that will continue all season. Obviously if it does then we're in trouble, but the same applies to almost every team.
