I think we're getting a bit short-sighted if we are forgetting a 0-3 away win at a certain East London stadium under Chris Hughton a couple seasons ago.

I said the same thing to my friends who are all on cloud 9. Remember the Martin Hinshelwood 3-0 victory away first game at Burnley several years back. Remember what followed?
3-1.

I also remember at the time loads of Burnley fans saying after the game that we would be relegated.

I haven't heard the same assessment from Watford this time.

I really enjoyed Saturdays performance. A 3-0 win away from home is something I never thought I would see again to be honest, not in the Premier League anyway.

But are some members of the board getting just a little bit too over excited ?... its only 1 result after all

Tell me I'm just a pessimist and we really are going to be great this season Marshy.. sit back and enjoy the football

Of course we're getting carried away. Talksport joking about us finishing fifth. Enjoy it while we can. Plenty of time for realism later.

Lol...change that to top ten......enjoy a win of course...particularly as its away and the margin ..but then it can go all doom and gloom on the back of one defeat ..this is NSC after all

Quite enjoy it whilst it lasts. Thought West Ham away was better, but any 3-0 away win is not to be underestimated......

Great fun, great performance.......

Is it not the way of most NSC posters that their Albion Mojo is either on 10 or zero with very little inbetween.

I fully expect that if we lose by 5 or more at City at the end of the month, NSC will be full of we're going down, Potter out threads.

To use a cliche for Saturday's result and performance, one swallow doesn't make a summer

Reckon will end up bottom half / relegation scrap but don't think its outside the realms of possibility that we could beat West Ham and then turn over Southampton.

Could see a top of the table clash with City at the end of the month where we would be firmly brought down to earth.

Would love love love to win the first 3. Imagine the buzz.

Also 9 points towards safety is MASSIVE

I don't get to the Amex as often as I like (plastic) and my last game was Bournemouth 0-5.

I'm going Saturday and expect a reverse. I want Potter's triangles, I want goals from all the new players whether they are playing or not. I want a VAR penalty. I want to sign "we are top of the league"

Currently we are unbeaten in the league and aiming for Europe.

Yes I am getting carried away as the alternative is a sad boring life - ie normal

Yes, let's have a bit of realism. We are going to get absolutely STUFFED in the Champions' League next year unless we can sign some truly world class players.

There are 25,000 members here. Of course a few will get carried away. The vast majority of us are more cautiously optimistic.

The main (new) reason I'm optimistic is because Bloom has said his goal is to make us a top 10 club. He wouldn't have said that if he wasn't intending to provide us with the means to get there. That's ****ing amazing!

Potter is new to the Premier League and his style of football is new to the players. I figured it would take time for them to learn what he wants them to do (and I still assume that's the case), but our first performance has made me optimistic that both Potter and his players can adapt quicker than I had expected.

Tell me I'm just a pessimist and we really are going to be great this season Marshy.. sit back and enjoy the football
No. Keep being a pessimist and the good results will thrill you all the more. Start thinking we'll be great and there's a good chance you'll be disappointed.

I'm sort of here too.... However Martin Hinshelwood found himself managing a team for the first time in his life, with a team and stadium set-up that was woefully under-prepared for the first division having had two promotions in a row and then the manager walking out, and Zamora was missing injured for much of Hinshelwood's tenure...

So whilst its an obvious comparison on first look, its less so when we delve in :)

edit ** what is keeping me grounded is the fact Watford did start to get right on top , should of scored when March was messing about and could of got a pen , we could of been talking about a 2-1 defeat if they had got back on terms. The performance was good but there was a few concerning signs ***

Possible that we could be above Citeh, at the start of that game, if Tottenham can get a draw or win, not likely we will be at the final whistle though.

Fingers crossed we'll still be top, on goal difference.

I'm not getting carried away with visions of Silverware, but I am confident that the club/team is progressing. TB, Dan A and the backroom boys seem to have found a manager that fits with their vision and has shown he understands how to get more out of the players. No reason not to be excited and optimistic after that performance.
