No I don't. That's why we need to significantly strengthen our midfield - and that would be exactly the same whether CH or Potter was in charge.

What happened to the interest in Glenn Kamara at Rangers? He looked pretty good? I see Sander Berge is playing for Genk tonight so that doesn't look like happening.

I expect somebody from NSC e-mailed PB to get him to tell the recruitment team not to buy anybody from Scotland as they can only play monkey tennis ..........................

We might be looking at better quality this season. In drawn out negotiations, trying to convince our targets that we can satisfy their ambitions.

Sander Berge was being mentioned last week. And as we haven't heard a concrete 'no', we may still be in with a shout. Just as long as a bigger fish doesnt show any interest before deadline day. Who knows?
The problem is our deadline day is over 3 weeks before clubs in Germany etc. have their deadline day.

Your point was “debuts were delayed” - they weren’t.

Full debuts then, I’m surprised you are taking 10 minute substitute appearances, as an effective judgement as to whether a player has picked up the nuances of a managers system.

The thing that worries me is IF McGuire moves if Dunk is a preferred option AND ASSUMING WE LET DUNKY LEAVE it leaves little time for a suitable replacement.

Corrected for you...

This is getting ridiculous. We really are very likely going down UNLESS we close our oh so ****ing obvious squad gaps. Just don’t get the apparent complacency. I hope we really are close to bringing a few quality signings in.

Cue the usual suspects leaping to defend our tardy recruitment failings...

Normally would be concerned but basically no one has signed anyone except villa who had about 10 players before the window.

Palace losing their best two players and haven’t brought anyone in.

I fully agree with your views on our first team, but I praying that the club have major signings in hand ... it’s all part of the game going on between clubs here and overseas.

Yes but most teams aren’t as utterly terrible as we were last half of the season. We have a nailed on relegation squad at this point make no mistake.

Oh FFS give it a rest. If we don't bring anybody in for the next week, it doesn't mean we're nailed on for relegation. Even if we don't bring in anyone at all, yes, it increases the chances of going down, but it doesn't make it certain. Nothing makes relegation certain except being X points behind the team in 17th. with only Y points available to win. That won't happen until March at the earliest, and unless or until it does, it's not a certainty. Neither you nor I nor anybody else knows how results will go this season.

By Jove...a bloody rumour has surfaced...probably shite but here goes...Phillip Billing... more likely off to Eddie's mob though!

Someone I actually rate. Not sure how exactly he'd fit into the team, but would be a much better addition than Isaac Hayden for instance.

"Tardy recruitment failings". :lolol: Honestly watching people like you and your ilk pissing your pants over this really is very amusing indeed.

Agreed but that wasn't your original point. Fair enought its tedious pedantry, (debut vs start) so forgive me for being dull.
But you said their "debuts" were "delayed" due to "international duty". They weren't and clearly signing them late in the window - the concern of some on this thread about new signings being too late - didn't actually prevent them from being part of the 18 straight away and Hughton picking them.
Also If you want a good example of a signing being signed late in the window and going into the team successfully within days. - ask Davy Propper.

Fair enough, it is pedantry, but I should have put ‘full’.

Tilley also made his first team debut at Boro for a minute..... but it’s in the records

Of course being in the 18 and being gradually introduced as was the case in the main for Hughton’s late arrivals, isn’t the same as starting, which seems due to the timing of the signing

Thought Propper was actually poor in his first few games City (though it was City), Leicester and Watford....

Just hope we strengthen.

I think this has been a bad summer for us so far, though accept I seem to be in the minority on NSC.
