I think the Indians asked for Edgebaston....

I'm not bloody surprised. I see Nasser Hussain has just described it as a fifth day test wicket, turning square

Great, So England, a team that's pretty vulnerable to spin, plays against the team with the best set of spinners in the WC, on a raging bunsen

Really can't see us beating either the Kiwis or India with Vince opening, he is a walking wicket.
No plan B either.

Hope it's not too late.

There's one slight problem: it looks like Southee will be fit for that one too

That's not a toss to lose, we don't want to be facing Boult, Southee and Ferguson on a Durham green-top at 10.30 in the morning

Roy may be back for India, looks like he'll certainly be back for NZ
Cricket mirroring Football again, for Roy read Beckham or Rooney... Relying on a crock to save us if they can just get fit enough..... What could possibly go wrong?

Really interesting decision on overturning Rohit being not out.

Keeper didn't look convinced, almost looked a reluctant review.

Ball shown to be going through a tight gap between bat and pad, which are pretty much parallel and a faint spike is seen as it passes through. 3rd umpire gives it out, convinced it has hit the bat, but no way it was conclusive the spike wasn't from brushing the pad. Given it overturned the on field decision, got to say, if that was against one of our players (prior to them being caught on the boundary), I'd be livid!

Gayle gone early and cheaply, probably that is it for the Windies although RRR is not ridiculous. 45-2 after 14.

Morning Everyone. Todays game is:

Sri Lanka vs. South Africa at Chester le Street

Sri Lanka win would put them on same points as England.

Maybe we do though, because batting second clearly isn't working for us.

That 14-1 on SL doesn't look a bad bet. England have to win at least one of their last two games but they could beat NZ and still not qualify. India play SL in their last game and may not try too hard to win that

Given the chances are that it will be Pakistan in the semi's rather than England, I'm thinking the Indian players may not be overly-motivated to beat us :)
