Play like we did in the first half hour today (and for the 90 mins at Arsenal last week) and we’ll be fine. All in the tactics. We have the players (on the whole), just need to approach the games in the right way/frame of mind

This but we also need more options up front. Our only threat these days are from set pieces and an ageing Murray.

It's tactics.

We saw against Arsenal the the first 30 minutes today most of the players are capable. Go into each game fretting about conceding means you aren't going to have players forward to support you slow aging striker.

But that is of course banging your head against the proverbial wall.

How do we get the current players out of the rot that has set in?

Some new guys, some new attitude from the manager, and if it starts out worse than this season, change the manger.

Defence squad will cope but have to accept many of midfielders and forwards just not good enough. I would try and unload Knockaert, Stevens,Gross,Locardia. Ali J just doesnt look good enough but has 5yr contract and Murray will not go anywhere. We cannot keep kidding that the side that has struggled for 2 seasons is good enough. Still hoping for new manager and ideas but if Hughton stays please dont keep saying Want to stay in game. Of course results are vital but how nice if we entertained a bit more. We stayed up because of 3 lucky wins on trot . Can only think of Watford game where we deserved more then we got

Pace, pace and pace. Massively lacking with the current squad.

This, and fitness. 90 minutes of chasing down, harrying, getting in the oppositions faces - that all requires a new level... As soon as we start getting busy our players all start blowing out of their arses.

We have some players who possess skill, but not the pace or fitness to make the most of it.

Good question, if we are to change how we play the manager has to be replaced, if that is the case the decision should have already been made.

I don't think that's necessarily true. Hughton can play attacking football with different formations as he very much did in the Championship. We also played 4-4-2 back then when we had Baldock and Muzza up top. He's being pragmatic for the current context we're in and with the players we have. It's certainly within Chris' capabilities to change/adapt if he feels we have the players to do so and it's the approach that will get us more points than we would playing how we have the past two years.

We actually started the season closing down the opposition and getting in their faces, not sure what happened to that, but we need to get back to it.

So why hasn't he played 442 this season with Andone and Locardia getting splinters every week ??

We need AT LEAST five new players who are better than what we currently have in the positions they will be coming in. Two strikers, two centre mids, right back. I'd also argue a better winger. Without that reckon we'll be praying there are 3 worse again and not sure we'll get so lucky.

Well, we can't afford at least five players who are better than what we currently have; if we spread our funds over five or more players they won't be any better than our current lot. So what is your alternative?

We won’t survive next season, not a chance. The rhetoric from the club seems to be thus:

Hughton has the FULL backing of the board - he’s going nowhere people.
The ‘new’ signings will be given even more time to absolutely confirm that, at this level, they’re shit. With one genuine exception in Bissouma. This worries me re any real push for upgrades.

The negative talk will continue, this ‘our level’ stuff, the tactics will mirror the attitude and the self fulfilling prophecy will look after the rest.

No Bruno, no leader.

Murray, another year older, STILL our last best hope for points.

We could also see Dunk, Duffy and Ryan depart.

We’re likely to remain being criminally sluggish and unfit.

I’d say we’re looking at favourites for the drop.

The only way we could prevent it, is to turn all of the above upside down... let’s be really honest here, it’s not going to happen... we are VERY lucky we stayed up, but worry ye not... we’re also VERY Championship ready.

Increase our salary cap. It’s that simple. I’ll leave Tony to find the money mind...
