I wonder how many 'hooten out' people are also hard brexitters? 'We don't need a mangerial plan B, just sack him now. Hard CHexit'. For actual ****'s sake. :ffsparr:

I can give you at least one example where that particular idea is way off the mark, mate! Brexit - yes please (a minority opinion on here, I know), but Hughton out? - no way, and bollox to all the 'I always wanted us to go for Sherwood anyway' brigade now all over this thread!

And its like a lot of clubs can look forward to an FA Cup final most years.

Whilst I'm buzzing for the Semi final and am delighted we've got there, we haven't exactly had the most difficult run. And as much as it did make for an amazing moment which will live long in the memory, we barely scraped past 21 placed Millwall in the Championship thanks to their keeper being shite. I'd like to think most managers would've got us there with this squad considering the opposition we've faced.

You can't blame football fans for wanting to be entertained. That's not a sense of entitlement. Many of those fans don't care much what division their club is in, so long as the football they watch their team play is entertaining.

You aren't looking at the Venn diagram properly. My supposition is that all Hooten outers are HARD Brexitters, not that all Brexitters are hooten outers. The keyword is hard.

Yes I know it’s chelsea away, yes I know it’s Man City next and yes I know he’s been brilliant for our club, but he should stand down in the summer and let the club with Ashworh etc try and bring the club forward. I genuinely think we will go down next year if not.

If what I’m suggesting is wrong, tell me why it’s wrong?

He’ll always be a legend

No. Boring thread. Why wait until we lost to Chelsea to post this ?

We're in a semi final and staying up is in our hands. I'lll leave it to the club to organise the management. They've done pretty well over the last 10 years or so.

We’re playing poorly, our squad isn’t that good in PL terms (especially in CM and up front), we thoroughly deserve to be in the relegation mix, and if we go down no Albion fan can claim it unjust.

But I remain loyal to CH. He simply hasn’t got a quality PL squad to work with, IMO.

I’d genuinely be gutted if he got the sack.

We are currently following a plan to improve.

We are round about where we should be in terms of that plan.

I have faith in the people who are running the plan.

I understand the plan and think it is a good one.

I don't see the need to change the plan.

I would suggest that if someone is going to suggest changing the plan then it is up to them to suggest a new one.

Do you think we have improved from last season? I don’t.

Well if he keeps giving the same old pre-match interviews where he praises the opposition to the hilt and says how good they are then we should definitely fire him :)
Seriously though i have been wavering with whether he should go since the start of this February - he has made some terrible tactical decisions this year - playing so negatively at home against bottom half teams - much worse than last season. Now what i would LOVE to KNOW..

What do Houghton and TB discuss about the future. Does TB say like "well sorry chris, this is your budget you just have to do your best with what weve got - i spent a LOT of money getting us here and want to stay in the PL so am happy to settle for survival?" or is it "Ok Chris,. i know youve done really good for us and we are still learning so i'll give you some time to get the team to gel?" or in breif is Chris walking a tightrope to survive or are his hands tied in what he can try?

All hailing Hughton as an untouchable legend but where is the progression from last season? Equally as bad away from home, worse at home. Still go into an away game against a top 15 side expecting to lose ‘to nil’.
Not a great position to be in at nearly the end of the 2nd season is it?

We beat Man Utd again, we beat our rivals twice, we're in an FA Cup semi which will be watched around the world, we're probably not going to get relegated and - did I mention? - we beat our rivals twice.

Sorry we didn't beat the Chelsea billionaires. We were never going to. We never do.

Fantasy thread. Hughton’s job is not even up for discussion realistically. We would be the laughing stock of British football if we did this.

That said I do think he has slightly underperformed reasonable expectations for taking the club forward this season.

He’ll get another chance next season but the board need to accept the Championship winning squad is wear and tearing now and we need more significant spending, otherwise it won’t matter who the manager is

We won away at Bournemouth. I do not believe many teams do that.

As pointed out on all of these dull regurgitated threads, we have a bottom six PL playing budget, and are EXACTLY where ‘by rights’ we ought be in that league.

Of course we all HOPE for better, but we have zero right to expect it.

Christ there are some real dickheads on here tonight. Absolutely shocking, the team need us as we go into one of the biggest games in our history on Saturday, and what do people opt to do? Demand the best manager we’ve ever had is sacked. Yes we’re not in the best form, but we’re still 5 points clear of the drop zone, with a fair few winnable home games still to play. In amidst such a hectic and demanding schedule, it’s not too big a surprise to observe a drop in levels. Some are probably tired, some are still adapting to our team and the toughest league in the world, and some are just simply out of form. This is not an easy job, and it is not for us, while we watch the Albion at such a high level competing against some of the very best, to moan and lament a manager who has done so much, and who continues to work miracles.
