He can’t make a silk purse out of a sows ear.

So how do you account for the change of play once we conceded...same players on the pitch. Its not about quality , the bottom 8 are pretty much similar in that respect its about the attitude of both the manager and the players and we need to get this sorted quickly. Personal view is that the players are told repeatedly about their defensive duties and that impacts their ability. Also really don't understand why Kayal was not in the team.

That’s weird, I thought there were 5 teams below us, of which one we did the double over. Or is Huddersfield’s season so bad that their results have been expunged?

Actually, his analysis is quite sound. Huddersfield are not a Premier League outfit. They gatecrashed in through the Playoffs (with a minus GD), somehow lived off some early results in their first season, but have now found that they are completely out of their depth, as proved by the most pathetic and disastrous PL campaign since Derby.

We ARE equipped for this division, but are making such fvcking hard work of it by mincing around like its a pre-season friendly until we find ourselves a goal down, whereupon we suddenly find an extra 20% in our running, closing, movement and all-round urgency. We've clawed our way back sometimes with this trait, but shit the bed, why don't we go out and cuffing START like it.

We are infuriating.

To be honest his history at other clubs is only repeating itself and I think it may prove our undoing if not addressed soon.
I am not saying that Chris does not have certain qualities as a man and manager, this is business and not personal.

Played like a team of players who didn’t want to get injured for Wembley, led by an ancient, paceless striker who’s spent the season holding the ball up and getting kicked up in the air

This. Murray's lack of mobility is a real issue. We need some pace up there. Locadia looked far superior to Murray when he came on, and if Andone isn't fit we should be starting with him

We looked toothless all the while we played 4-3-3, as we lacked bodies in the box whenever we had the ball out wide. It is no surprise that we looked more dangerous once Locadia went on alongside Murray - he needs a partner to get the best out of him (and he has said as much himself about wanting to work alongside Andone).

It was clear from very early on that murray was completely isolated up top and not going to get much of a sniff. It was also very clear that we couldn't get numbers up the pitch into the final third. It's the managers job to change things when tactics aren't working. First change was made in the 62nd minute, and Locadia came on in the 74th minute. CH unfortunately was as much to blame as the players yesterday. Why on earth Izquierdo wasn't used yesterday I'll never know considering how slowly we were moving the ball about, and Locadia should have been brought on much earlier. His would surely have been chomping at the bit to get on out there after his great goal the other week

He’ll play and set the team up exactly the same at Wembley.

I fear CH has run out of ideas.

We are playing a system which doesn’t really suit us, or get the best out of our players. I think every single player on that pitch is easily good enough for this level, however it is like we currently without any belief and as if the players are told to play within themselves and not take any risks.

We need to either change the formation or up the tempo and intensity of what we are doing because the way we are setting up and going about things is suffocating the players and frustrating the fans.

If CH wants to play dour defensive safe football, he really should be buying the players that suit it (Burnley springs to mind) because we are expecting players like Ali J and Bissouma to be defending before thinking about being attacking which clearly isn’t their strength.

It's hardly believable against a team below us at home. 7 points needed from our last 3 home games still required in my view (not including Man City) but can anyone see more than 1 win based on yesterday's debacle? Even if we got another 7 points (which I think is unlikely) we'd only equal last season's tally, and I was hoping we would be moving forward this year.

I think people forget that the opposition generally change their approach to the game when they go ahead. Southampton were happy to sit back and defend narrow and deep and hit us on the counter. This gave us more space and time to play in which then made us look a better side than we were before they scored

Last season, we were extremely timid and cautious away from home but seemed to be much more positive at the Amex. This year, Hughton seems to have approached home matches in the same way he’s always prepared the team for away games and it makes for painful viewing.

In business as in life everyone has an opinion. The best business leaders are those that listen to others whilst looking at the facts and then makes a decision. They then back that decision until the facts change, they don’t wobble all the time. My opinion is that he is doing a solid job, we are where I would have expected us to be at the start of the season. It seems Tony has the same opinion.

That would be 8 points from 27 then... still pretty crap huh?

33 points from 30 games. As I said, solid.

Were you expecting us up with Everton?

I admire your optimism and hope that your considered view turns out for the best. Cannot express how pissed off I am with the way we approached yesterday’s game.

Aye...took Ings off fresh striker up front and withdrew Redmond into midfield thus leaving one up front
