We're on the march with Ally's Army
We're going to the Argentine
And we'll really shake them up
When we win the World Cup
'Cause Scotland are the greatest football team
I've heard it said that Beckenbauer's the best that's ever been
Some people think that Pele is the greatest that they've seen
There's Bobby Moore and Charlton, England's famous two
But Ally's tartan army love the boys in Scotland's blue
We're on the march with Ally's Army
We're going to the Argentine
And we'll really shake them up
When we win the World Cup
'Cause Scotland are the greatest football team
When it comes to managers, we surely got the champ
When Docherty and Ormond left to join some other camp
We had to get a man who could make all Scotland proud
He's our Muhammad Ali; he's Alistair MacLeod
We're on the march with Ally's Army
We're going to the Argentine
And we'll really shake them up
When we win the World Cup
'Cause Scotland are the greatest football team
When we reach the Argentine we're really gonna show
The world a brand of football that they could never know
We're representing Britain; we've got to do or die
For England cannae dae it 'cause they didnae qualify
We're on the march with Ally's Army
We're going to the Argentine
And we'll really shake them up
When we win the World Cup
'Cause Scotland are the greatest football team
We're on the march with Ally's Army
We're going to the Argentine
And we'll really shake them up
When we win the World Cup
'Cause Scotland are the greatest football team
Yes, Scotland are the greatest football team

bloody hell more delusional than that lot up the road.... FFS Scotland are the greatest football team

F#ck Off - I am gonna have nightmares tonight seeing the words to that song again after all these years - Ally's next job after that debacle in 1978 was Motherwell Manager

Has the 48 hour “bad taste” window elapsed?

I was being serious. I actually had disturbed dreams related to this last night. Seems to have hit a nerve. :(

We just beat Boca Juniors, to the signing of a 20 year old Argentinian, attacking midfielder, for £7 million, and the news has barely registered on NSC.

Amazing, how quickly we have taken our new exalted status for granted.

Yes we are getting very Man U lately and it has to stop before the inevitable crash. Seriously though there may have been more interest if he was eligible to play straight away, against West Brom would have created HUGE interest.

The response is indeed muted and does show how far we have come.

It would be a bit different if he was going to play for us on Saturday though.

When is he due back with Argentinos? I wonder if he brought his boots...?

I think flying from Buenos Aires to Shoreham in a single-engine prop plane would be somewhat perilous... Houghton will make him sail here in a large, safe, ship.

I think the problem is that I don't know whether to be excited or not. Is he another Percy Tau or is he the real deal. I'd like to think we've been scouting about for players that can strengthen the team now, but we all know that the club management is very patient and methodical (good thing), so we'll have to wait and see if he'll make the grade.

Let's hope he plays tomorrow and scores 3.

But, I agree. We are in danger of getting blasé about it all.

Who’s that man from Argentina?

Who’s that man we all adore?

Alexis is his name and he has a ginger mane and we won’t mention Sidwell anymoreeeee

Hopefully an exciting signing. A gamble, but I’d rather we bought these types of players rather than buying players past their best on stupid money. Recruitment has been excellent for past few windows, so no reason to doubt this one.

A £7m 20 yr old with potential gamble makes perfect sense as we’d get him European market exposure and if he’s half as good as we hope would be able to recoup all/most of the fee should it go Pete Tong.

Much better than say overpaying on fee and salary for Nick Powell who’s older and less likely to develop into something much better.

Percy tau is decent we just can't play him.

I was in Cape town recently and Percy is a hero there.... Billboards , adverts on TV etc. It's a strange situation
