Russia has been banned from competing at next year's Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang by the International Olympic Committee.

But Russian athletes who can prove they are clean would be allowed to compete in South Korea under a neutral flag.

It follows an investigation into allegations of state-sponsored doping at the 2014 Games hosted by Russia in Sochi.

RT will bill it as a systematic attempt by Western powers to blacken the name of Russia's incredibly brilliant athletes using fake drug slurs because they can't accept that Russian athletes are the best in the world. The internal news might have a little problem to deal with. Either all talk of the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang is airbrushed out or they have to try to explain why the few heroic Russian athletes competing are not wearing national colours ?.... interesting either way.
