I worry that by staying 2-3 years (or arguably 5) too long that his memory will not be quite as insanely elite as it should be. Gerrard strikes me as a good comparison though he only did it for a year or 18 months which made more sense. Excellent club players and decent at International level but always seemed to put home and 'family' at club level first.

Those who witnessed a lot of him will think even better than was and others will think wasn't 'quite' as good as reality......... I expect. If makes any sense!
