Man Utd reserves beat Palace first XI 2-0. Kane top goalscorer so looking forward to us going against Spurs.
North East football does really have a fetid stench about it just now, doesn't it - especially with Newcastle just having spent a year in the Championship.
There was an interesting discussion on the radio a few weeks ago, suggesting that in the future the North East and North West clubs may have to 'base' themselves in the south (ie London) for training purposes etc, to attract foreign talent - and then just fly up north for their fixtures.
Hull 1-7 Spurs
What a thoroughly depressing goodbye to the Premier League : a rough, messy and thorough tonking, at home...

With Marco Silva, the media golden boy flavour of the month, about to be poached by a club like Watford.
I can't see Hull bouncing back up this time.
He's a good manager, will probably end up at FCP.
As will all of the new top 7, home and away, EACH about about to spend £100m to £250m on new players this summer.
Predictably, we will have to get our 40+ points from the remaining 24 fixtures.
Bournemouth, with a top ten Premier League finish, give hope to all smaller clubs. And Southampton - just above them - do the same for clubs like us.
Places 8th to 17th separated by 6 points and each of these 10 teams won 11 or 12 games.
That seems pretty much a marker.

Yes, I think they do - different sort of feel altogether. Liverpool fans know that although they were once invincible in England, as well as being absolute masters of Europe, they've had years of (relatively!) harder times (but wouldn't most of us love Liverpool's 'Harder Times!'), with various managers trying to get them back to the very top but not quite making it - Rafa, Rodgers, Hodgson, etc.Fair enough, but do Liverpool fans feel any less entitled to be in the CL?
They've done well but it may surprise people to know that the current squads cost in transfer fees:
Southampton £171m
Bournemouth £89m
With squads packed with players costing £6m to £16m.
So no fairy tales, but the media would have you believe otherwise because of the tiny Bournemouth stadium.
Cheapest squad in Premier league this season is £46.7 Million
