I think we can still visit there or even live there if you wish.

Not likely we'll be able to live there in future is it? Unless we're rich enough to prove we're totally self-supporting. That's the real sadness of today for me. The opportunity my teenage child has lost today.

Lake Garda is one of the most beautiful places on earth imho.

This is not a willy waving competition, as there are lovely places throughout the world.

Shouldn't you be able to support yourself wherever you decide to live?

Of course. What I mean is - it's likely I'll only be able to go and live in Europe if I waive any right to healthcare/social security etc while living there. So in effect I'll need to be able to afford private medicine and be already wealthy. In other words, only the rich will be able to experience this in future. Which is a shame.

Europe was there before The EU and it will there when The EU has been consigned to the dustbin of history.
I'm proud we've put the first great big nail in the coffin of that corrupt, rotten, bureaucratic monster.
Love Europe - loathe The EU.

I just noticed you have made 668 posts. Are you the neighbour of the beast?

I can only see that happening if negotiations go so badly, that the present Government went back to Brussels, and revoked article 50, after a Parliamentary vote. That would really be Armageddon for us, we would lose all the special conditions that we already enjoy, the vetos, and the majority of the rebates, I imagine.
Absolutely this. Even if thy did let us in, I'm pretty sure it would only be on condition that we signed up to Shengen, the combined European defence force, the Euro and greater federalisation. No rebates either. Probably make us lose our pints, miles - and probably drive on the right too!

Now that was funny!

I am afraid this has been the trouble, this is why events of the last few years has not gone the way experts predicted.
The laughing, the cocky confidence, being fed project fear, watching demos by the far left and seeing monuments/ buildings disrespected, being labeled thick and stupid etc for having a different opinion......watching quietly what has been going on.........suddenly enough is enough, and the votes/referendums are a shock to many.
If the politicians had listened we might have had different outcomes.

By that you mean you disagree. Care to explain how? Having been to all 5 it's certainly how I felt. (Nothing special about those 5 places by the way, just illustrative of 5 very different places in the EU).

Both Sicily and Greece felt more like 3rd World to me, corrupt & peasant economies, nothing like Northern Europe Countries which I will admit feel much more like the UK.

Having said that Northern Italy Garda/Verona etc. is probably one of the most beautiful areas of the world.

Been too busy working to even give it a passing thought, now that i have i am pleased it's under way-Looking beyond the short and medium term, the long term future is where i am looking, out of the clutches of the EU and hopefully keeping a few countries within Europe *original and unique..*like i say in the longer term.

If i have to eat bread and jam along the way and sacrifice a holiday here and there to do it,so be it.
