There are alternatives. You could ignore the OP, or ignore the thread, or ignore the whole forum and watch cat videos instead. Although the dislike button was good while it lasted, the whole system is open to abuse by people out for petty revenge. Folks on here have admitted exactly that in the past when the thumbs down icon was in use.
