We're top of the league.
Top 3 (current) contenders all have to come to us.
What I think will be our toughest match of all our remaining fixtures is tonight. Win, lose or draw, we're still top. For what it's worth I think we'll win.
Can't see Leeds staying the distance, more concerned over Reading and Huds.
As the matches tick down it will be harder for them to catch us. Let's just keep doing what we've been doing.

My bad, thanks for the correction. Either way I think we should be beating them. (At very least, not losing.) My concern is more with Reading now. Let's put ourselves well clear at the top and let Newcastle fight it out with them.
Pretty much mid-table form should be enough to see us over the line, and we're the best team in the division, I can't allow myself to worry too much. This is our season.
Mmm. I guess that's one of the few games where I'd probably take a point. The bookies have us equal with Huddersfield tonight, at about 2-1 each result. I imagine Leeds will be slight favourites against us (barring injuries etc).
This is something I (and I'm sure others here) spend too long thinking about. Mid-table form is 1.28 points per game, which would put us on 84. That's clearly not enough. 6th / 7th place form would get us to 91 points.

Huddersfield will sure be a test, but I'm massively optimistic. For me Leeds are overrated, although Garry Monk is doing brilliantly there, I think they'll fade, and believe half their starting eleven would be lucky to get on the bench at Newcastle, Reading or here. Although that's probably not a popular opinion.
In my head mid-table was nearer 1.5 ppg. Again, good correction.
If I had a tenner that I had to stick on a single number for our total points haul for this season, it would go on 96. But with that said, pre-season I predicted us finishing second to Norwich! I'm a Brighton supporter, I know nothing.

You're 'clearly' certain that 84 points won't be enough for automatics (i.e. above third place), yet you're unsure whether 90 or 93 will be enough. The entire history of the Championship tells us that 90 is enough for automatics. What's so different about this season?
No I'm not certain, but I don't think it'll be enough. I posted in response to lizard's post, and he was just guessing that mid table was about 1.5 points a game.
Have I said I wasn't sure if 93 was enough? 90 is a different matter, of course we can't be sure that's enough.
How long is that history exactly?
If either Leeds or Reading continue the form they've showed over the last 10 games, they'll get 91 points. It's not exactly far fetched is it.

Just done some fag paper maths and to get 90 points, we need 1.58 points per game. Which is slightly better than Fulham's form so far. Calmed the nerves slightly seeing that.

Jesus Christ there are 57 points left for us to play for and 54 for Newcastle and 51 for Reading and Leeds. We can include Huddersfield in that equation if they win tonight as well. Far to many points to guess how many wins we will need to defiantly go up. We have to win 1 game at a time and come the end of March we can most likely look at the table and say what we will likely need.
Following last season and the recent form of Leeds an Reading (despite not being as good as ours) I can honestly say that I am already chewing my fingers to the bone worrying about it to much, and threads like this make my worry about it even more.

Exactly. Can imagine there wll be anxiety if we lose tonight but this is not yet a sprint to the finish. The two hme wins hav given us a little leeway for results to be less than perfect.

Yes, but continuing that assumption, we would have 107 points so be celebrating with several games to spare; it would be Newcastle (worst record of top 6 in last 10 despite playing none of the other five in that period) who would be vulnerable, squeaking home by 2 points. IMO, Newcastle fans have more to worry about than us.
