Not the real one
Stockdale is prone to the odd one, but then so was Kuczsak, Beeney, Digweed, Moseley, Steele and Grummitt, in fact every keeper in my time of supporting the Albion.

But can you name a better keeper currently with the ball at his feet in this country?

This is the thing, his distribution is excellent and that really is what puts Stockdale above many other keepers. Don't underestimate how important the distribution of a keeper is for the way a team plays and counter attacks. I would sign him up straight away or if not, I hope there is an agreement that he signs when or if we go up.

But may act as a sweetener for them to allow him to come back.

Allowing doesn't come into it. If there's a recall clause in the contract, we take him back if we want to, end of. There is no permission that needs to be sought from anybody else, Luton included. If there is no such clause, then he stays at Luton.

What number keeper would Stockdale be at Chelsea. If I'm not mistaken he is 30 ish and we are the first club at which he has been 1st choice for a full season or more? Does he really want to go back to sitting on the bench or being loaned out again?

This, also adding the fact what do we know, contracts could already be agreed in principle we just don't know, and let's face it we already know TB is willing to hold onto players with short contracts when teams come calling. We all know he is a shrewd Buisness man, plans A & B are already in place as is contract offer A & B of that I am sure.

I think we are all panicking on the back of our history when all to often the wheels have come off.

This is the season to go up, we will not get a better chance than this one for a while. if we don't yes major changes in the squad will occur, but let's not panic now. Head high, chest out, let's do this and the rest will take care of it's self.
