I don't think Murphy is having as good a season as he did last year either, where he scored a few and his pace troubled defenders - not enough of that from him this season. But as he's never been a particularly lauded player on here, I think Murphy avoids the pelters that Skalak is getting now

I think Knocky and Solly are out in front clearly. If Kaz had showed any form at all this season, he'd be getting games also but he hasn't either. To sum up, we really wouldn't want an injury to Knocky

I watched his highlight reel from when we bought him and was impressed, when he hit that screamer last year I wasn't that surprised as the lad has got great technique and can hit a ball, he actually looks better as a no.10 than a winger but I guess we bought him for his crossing. Believe he will come good for us, but he has let himself down for the past few months.

Jiri's still pretty young, only one year into life in a foreign country. He can be forgiven a dip in form, which he does seem to be having. Hopefully by showing some faith in him he'll grow with us into a stronger player. Hope nobody gets on his back.

We'll get our money back on him if we go up

Is it too early to be asking if players are good enough for the Premier League? If not, might I ask the question of Jiri Skalak.

With more minutes this season than both Solly March and Jamie Murphy, Jiri Skalak has not started the last two games against Sheffield Wednesday and Cardiff. His crossing seems a lot less accurate of late, his dead ball deliveries don't seem to have the same potency as before. Perhaps it's just a little bit of off form, but I've always been a little bit unconvinced by him.
Perhaps I'm just overreacting though.

No you are not overreacting and are entitled to your opinion

He isn't a very good footballer. Slow and looks untidy on the ball. Falls over a lot but that's ok because he can get the odd assist.. Interesting many think he can play higher :lolol:

"The odd assist"

15/16 - Top Assists - Jiri Skalak (playing half a season!)
16/17 - Top Assists - Jiri Skalak

Behave.

Some players get more of a free ride than others - March was WOEFUL against Cardiff, but the reaction was muted. If Jiri had played like that...

He keeps getting more and more unimpressive every time I see him play. I hope he proves me wrong, but he is the only midfielder I think we should be getting rid of at the end of the season.

I feel the same way about march and murphy.

Well I think that people will cut Solly a little slack seeing as he has been out for a year and was on fire before that injury. Maybe the problem for Jiri is to some degree that on the other flank we have Knockheart.

But....Jiri sets up way more goals than Knocky...

We have a very good set of wingers. Skalak has been in crap form of late, and should probably be given a league game or two off. But the revisionism on here is INSANE. He's generally been very good for us.

It's got nothing to do with Knocky on the other flank. I'm just not impressed with Skalak's albility as a footballer. He might be top assist but his goal ratio is 1 goal in every 20 games. Piss poor for a winger in a good side.

Knocky's assist rate is piss poorer for a winger ?

So is 1 assist in 26 for a winger, yet knockheart is loved. assists are just as good as goals.
