nailed on penalty completely missed by the ref......that will be shown many times throughout the week and something that particularly Duffy and Dunk need to iron out of their game.....they won't get away with it all season and these things have a way of evening out......i thought the ref was leaning towards us for most of the game.,,great result for us but Bristol City will feel they got nothing from the ref....and they didn't really.

Don't agree.

Though, I would understand that Bristol City felt aggrieved by the ref, Tomlin went down at every opportunity and got nothing. Strong and correct refereeing for me.

have you watched the replay......the ref will feel dudded after that and Duffy may well be a marked man for the next few weeks....the shirt pulling has to stop , that pen would be given in 7/10 instances i reckon........if that was an England game and it happened to Rooney or Sturridge there would be a huge out-cry...no..?

For sure, but lets be honest, that was a really poor decision.

These days there seems to be an acceptance that shirt pulling goes on, it seems to be when it restricts movement that it gets penalised. Wilbrahams was not restricted at all and just went down.

I agree, and was annoyed that Dunk was penalised.

Yes, there would be an outcry, but rightly or wrongly it is part of the game. As per my previous post it seems to come down to restriction of movement.

I would say it the type of tug that's going on all the time if they call of them it would about 6-6 on penalties every game however I would not of complained if it had been awarded.

Definite pen. Didn't take away the fact that we thoroughly deserved the win though

Irrespective of how Wilbraham acted the rules quite clearly state that shirt pulling is an offense and I think Duffy was lucky to get away with it. I was however very pleased that he did.it could have brought us untold pressure. Both him and Dunk have go to cut it out before it rebounds on us.

Clearly a penalty for me. We'd have been screaming for it if it had been at the other end.

However. As has already been mentioned, Wilbraham is a terrible, terrible footballer, whose hair and beard make him look like an Action Man, and whose footballing abilities are roughly on the same level as said plastic toy. He's also a striker with an unpleasant history of playing for Crystal Palace. He should never, ever be in the Championship.

Therefore justice was, obviously, done.

He was looking for it and the shirt pulling was a bit of a non event for me. Right decision.

perhaps a bit of both?! . . Duffy clearly had hold of his shirt, but did it rather craftily on the blind side, so the ref could not see it. the forward then threw himself on the ground, to and this play acting is what the influenced the ref. I think we were lucky, but after last season, I will take very bit of luck we can.

Shirt pulling - yes, Duffers did tug it some.
Do you think football shirts will eventually be replaced by the snug-fit shirts the egg-chasers use which are much harder to grab hold of?
Might take this element out of the game?

How would the fat b......s like Lee Tomlin and Akinfenwa fare in a tight shirt? I think that it is likely to happen though if penalties are given as one of the top teams will start the ball rolling.

ok ....we'll leave it there then...???

Yes. A wider issue, but doesn't change the fact neither the ref or linesman gave it regardless of whether they saw it.

If you give a penalty for every bit of shirt pulling, they'll be 5-10 pens a game.

Went down easily for me.

Good idea, though I would encourage the holding of shorts instead!

Definite penalty. Don't care. After the luck we got in the final few matches of last season I reckon we're due some good karma.
