Priority for me is to at all costs retain Kayal. Else we just go back to being a side that gets rolled over in midfield. Tho I guess if we lose too much ground in that area of the field we could always break the club transfer record in January and sign the philosopher Joseph Barton from Rangers. :moo:

I agree it is a major priority but not necessarily this week any time in the next couple of months will do. A new CB and No 10 is needed ASAP.

Mate just stop you can't win. This is how it goes for you and anyone else concerned about the squad.

You voice concern early and get told about the window closing at the end of August, and that you're a shit fan, a bedwetter and get a load of abuse from people who are much better fans than you.

Then one of these 2 things happens.

1) We make some solid signings in the next month and do well, people hunt down your old posts and they gloat and generally send abuse your way again, because you're a shit fan.

2) We don't make any good signings and you say you were worried this was gonna happen, you then get a load of abuse because you're seen as gloating, and reveling in something bad happening to the team, because you're a shit fan.

TL:DR - If you don't agree that everything is constantly perfect on planet Albion, try not to post it. Especially in the transfer window.

Fair points, but what we don't get from 'concerneds' is acknowledgement of what is happening in the 90% of the transfer action that we don't see. They just focus on the 10% above the water. We know this year that it is more difficult than 2015 because it is a Euros year, delaying the trickle down effect; that Albion actually have at least three very saleable players (only Dunk last year) so transfers are facing both ways; that even in the 10% we can see that we have been gazumped on one so we can assume many more haven't happened that we know zero about; and that there is nearly four weeks to go.

We all would love to have signed everyone we need by now for very obvious footballing reasons, but, TBH, I would doubt the commercial nous of TB et al, if we had. Be concerned ( I am a little) but be concerned with balance.

Still not convinced we'll see another striker. An attacker probably to play behind a forward but not necessarily an out and striker. I still think we're 1 centre back light.

We got rid of some of our older players at the end of last year, as well as sending some of our squad players out on loan for this season, and now our squad looks a bit short of numbers. Surely Bloom has a few more signings up his sleeve to strengthen the squad?

We still need another defender or two, maybe another midfield player, and most definitely another decent striker. All the teams competing with us for the top 6 spots are buying good quality players, yet we don't seem to be, and the season is looming ever closer.

I know the squad we have did an amazing job last season, but if we weren't going to replace our veteran players with better younger players, surely we'd have been better off keeping them till we did. I know we have signed a few, but I don't feel it's enough.

Bearing in mind the club was planning to sign a player in a deal worth (if you believe the numbers) £8m, I find it hard to believe that it is 'it'.

In the case of Prichard, I'm guessing there will be a Plan B (and probably a C and D), and the same could be said for other positions. I'm sure Paul W and his team don't get paid to sit around doing chuff all over the summer...

Indeed. The club were clearly in for an extra attacking player, and have publically stated (at least Bruno has) that they are working hard to get a new centre back in. Obviously we'd all like everyone in place NOW, but quite why anyone would start panicking or suggesting that our business is done, is bizarre.

I know i'll take some stick for asking the question, but I can't be the only one out there thinking it.

No, I'm confident that at least 95% of NSC agree that we need a couple more players. Defensive cover and striker. It gets mentioned on pretty much every Albion based thread. If you get any stick for this thread it'll be because you somehow have seemed to come to the conclusion that we're not going to sign anyone else when there is absolutely no evidence or reason to think so.

kodija or vydra or a pacey fella without a squad number and duffy or ridgewell for me

Kodja will be out of our range I think as Bristol City have indicated the selling price would have to start at £12m for them to even listen. Vydra I would go with, Duffy is way overpriced in my mind but Ridgewell could do the job as 4th choice cover and not be too expensive

Isnt the owner of Bristol City allegedly richer than TB so money would come into it.

As long as we haven't sold anyone I'll remain reasonably confident. I am sure there will be more incomings though.

How can they ?

I believe their chairman makes Bloom look quite poor and they are really going for it. Why would they sell us their best striker?

More chance AK going to Newcastle than Kodja coming here.

No, that won't be it.

We still should replace Greer and Wilson, and also replace Elvis if he goes.

The replacement for Wilson is the key signing for me.

2 signings and we are done, a centre back and striker.

The centre back being the urgent one

Oh so close.
A #1 statement striker is urgent, then a centre half, then we are done.

There is absolutely zero need to 'replace' Elvis.

He was replaced in January when we brought in Skalak and Knockaert

Incorrect.

The additional striker could be considered more IMPORTANT, but the centre back is definitely more URGENT. We currently have three decent, fit strikers to fill one or two positions, but only have ONE fit centre back.

The trend is at the moment definitely skewing towards the big spenders..... I fear we will be top 10 fodder with maybe an outside chance of 6th and last playoff spot....
