Probably looking for fare dodgers, not so many tickets getting checked due to the current dispute.

Some left wing demo planned and OB were expecting the right wing meatheads to turn up looking for a rumble.

West is BEST
It's festival season and the police often rock up at train stations on a Sunday anyway, with the dogs etcetera. They'll be ticking a few stat boxes is all.
They used to quite regularly have the hounds there on a Sunday morning early trying to nick people who hadn't slept yet.

Waste of resources really. Yeah, they're gonna catch the odd Surrey boy with a bit of coke left over or a few pills in his wallet.
Weekend party bods. Small fry and frankly a way to waste money and make criminals out of otherwise good people.
The drug problem in Brighton is made in Brighton, it doesn't just pop over from Reading on a weekend stag do.

If you were going to smuggle a load of drugs, would you really get a train? just use a car, hardly any police on the roads these days!
